Did you use the Marks transfer case adapter? If so, how did you solve the shift lever issue? I've seen a couple of others create a stock look but had to use a shift lever from an earlier Cruiser. Did you do the stock look, if so, how?

I used the stock shifter. I modified the bracket to make it center in the shifter boot. I don’t remember exactly but I know I welded a piece of flat to the left side of the bracket and drilled new holes. I also remember doing this twice before it was centered like I wanted it. The bracket that comes with the kit moves the shifter too far to the right.

Thanks!

Man this is nice. I went and bought an FJ62 radiator from a place half an hour from my house that does swaps and restorations on cruisers. Looked over their recent swap while it was on the loft. Pristine 450 from Oregon with a 6.2 and 6l80. I was amazed. They have so many cool cruisers.

This is some pictures of the transmission shifter. I didn’t take pictures of the transfer shifter before I installed drivetrain.

10-12mph as I’m passing you!! 10-12mph loaded or unloaded. Steel rims, roof rack,hi lift, awning, rock sliders and full steel bumper with a winch. I have no complaints!!

I highly doubt your heavier than me. 37’s on beadlocks, front/rear labs with a tire carrier(full size beadlocks spare), dual battery, rear storage gate filled with tools/parts, sliders, belly pan, just to name a few on how it rolls daily.

I know driving up a hill sucks but I just drop it in 3rd, worst 2nd and I’m at least traveling 60-70. But driving on the freeway I normally cruise at 80-90mph all while getting 12-13 mph.

I don’t know what to tell you?!? The power and drive ability is so much better now. Maybe my speedo with my tire size is not giving me the true mileage?

Ohh by the way. Great job with the swap. Looks great!
