I have looked around but I can't find anything. I am wondering what is involved in the process in putting a FZJ80 electric locked rear diff in a FJ60 housing. I am pretty sure it has been done before, but I wonder how complicated it is???

Anyone know???

Which axle do you want to put it in? Front or rear?

I have a mini/cruiser hybrid rear axle so I have no c-clip!!! So does that mean I can do it??

Only if you can find a mini axle with long splines.

The FIRST thing you need to do is convert to a full floater. That stops most inquires right there.

Then you need to find a locking axle from a non-US locked 60 series. It'll have long splines where the locker collar slides back and forth. Call CruiserDan. He can tell you how many are available in NA. You could try to call your local parts guy, just for laughs.

Then you need to notch the housing slightly to clear the locker fork.

Then you need to determine a good way to make the locker work. I've been fighting with cables for a while now. The electrics aren't all that bad, but require a 3 relay set up and aren't the most reliable thing in the world.

On the front you can have Bobby Long make you a set of 30 spline super axles with the long spline.

Not to mention the ARB engages/disengages much quicker than the e-locker. I have both and much prefer the ARB for a wheelin truck. The stock lockers are sweet on my 80 because it would not have lockers at all if it did not come with them.

hmmmm. maybe i'll just go with arb in the front and aussie locker in the rear.

Salomonical solution dude .. it's the Aussie ready for huge meats ?
