Lots of people do it like this:

There are several Throttle body kits that are probably the easiest swaps. You could install a 3fe Head, intake, and efi system. A bit more work but it stays Toyota. Or you could do a custom setup with megasquirt or similar. But that’s the most work and most time consuming.

I would love this but got a 20 to 30k quote, yikes. So I'm also looking at efi for my 60
For which option? For the V8 swap that is about right depending on the work being done, starting point is usually about $10-$15k then goes up from there.

Wouldn't the "simplest" option be to drop a good 3FE into the truck? Mostly plug n play aside from mounting the EFI ECU?

Holley Sniper, or a kit from Affordable Fuel Injection would probably be most cost effective. The AFI kit has been a good success I believe

Right... Nolan @wngrog has had great success with his. Think the two hardest things is 1) finding the right adapter between the 2F intake and the TBI/AFI/Etc. unit and 2) finding the adapter for the EFI head to the stock air cleaner.

yes the V8 swap :)

I’d like to go 2fe but gonwith megasquirt and make up my own stainless exhaust manifolds

I love my AFI.

That said I’m also liking the Holley Sniper kits @FJ60Cam and @Dustin Messina just installed.

Holley Sniper !! love it have a little over 400 miles on my setup. Pretty simple install self learning and tuneable if you like to mess with it. I also really like the LCD screen you can look at real time data. Worth it.
