Started on the new Wiring for the HJ55 Project.
Running some braided shielding which I think really neaten's up the engine bay a bit better.

I also fell into a good deal with some FJ55 Brochures & Books from 1973. It has the Original Service History and Purchase Dealer.
Going to have to do a road trip down to South Australia and pay them a visit.

Another day at the shop!

Removed the Lexus Rear Seats and installed the original Bench Seat. Whilst I really liked the leather and how it bought the project a bit more class, they were greatly uncomfortable and proved to be a big let down with how much room they took up.

Mounted the new Fuse Box inside the glove compartment. This my Auto Sparkie found is by Bushmans. It has 42 Blade Fuse holders and 10 Relays. Great compact little thing. Can't wait to show you when it's fully terminated.

Also had some time to do the Remove the Sump from the 2H. This made it easier to install the Oil Return 90* bend into the sump. It'll be tig welded ready for later installation. Not a spec of metal inside the sump or old oil. Great to see!

Another day tweaking the small things.

Bolted up the Exhaust Manifold with some new M8x1.25 Nuts to suit the HJ60 Studs. Tightened all the new Hose Clamps then double checked ready to add some fluids.

Also made a start on the weeping Brake Cylinders. Found out the handbrake system was so poorly installed that it fell apart as the drum came off. Pretty sure Dodgey Brothers Incorporated have been working on this.

Whilst on the subject of dodgey, check out this rubbish attempt at a trail fix. Three sections all different sizes. The old "She'll be right" method.

Last but not least is adapting the HJ60 Drum Handbrake to the FJ55 Firewall mounted Puller. I thought to extend the cable but put these turnbuckles together. This will give the ability to tighten the handbrake with ease and about 20cm of adjustment over the two points. Should look pretty good when it's done tomorrow.

You've got a lot going on there.
Working around the shop tig welding the Oil Pan and the Auto Electrician. Getting it ready to fire up and run this time next week! Chasing up all the loose ends.

Another big day under the belt.

Had the 90* Oil Return Line welded to the sump.

Had a chance to start on the sliders. Based off the Redline 1977 FJ55 LandCruiser. Our GSP Finn decided he wanted to help, to very little success.

Also took the Lexus Interior out in order to finish off wiring. Note the Bushman's Fusebox in the Glove Box.

Fitted the new Glow Plug Switch reusing the FJ55s 'Warm Pull' switch. This is a double switch, so It'll be First Stage wired as a Light, then Second Stage is the Active to the Glow Plugs.

I also repurposed a few more switches from my other FJ55s. Had a few holes drilled in by the previous owner. Still trying to overcome that issue. The Switches are a 10mm OD hole and the drilled ones are 14mm.

Here's a few other photos of the Switch clean up and repairing. Mainly used the Fan Speed/Wiper 2 Stage Push/Pull Switches.

The HJ55RV-T's first taste of Diesel.
Will need to run a new Fuel Line as I wasn't happy with the placement on the chassis of the current one.

Today's success.

□ Finished off the GReedy Catch Can Bracket
□ Mounted the Warn Winch and Control Box.
□ Prepped the Sliders.
□ Installed new Fuel Lines & Filters.
□ Diff Breathers (1/8" BSP Fittings 1.25 Thread)
□ Repaired the failed Rear Tail Shaft Uni.

Time to get started on the Winch Bar. Rated 2x4 works a treat. Been busier this week then a One Armed bricky in Bagdad honestly. Sweating more then a gypsy with a mortgage.

One of the final peices of the.puzzle. Big shout out to Superior Enginering in Queensland for their quick work with sending down this Multi-fit Toyota Landcruiser Tailshaft spacer. With three seprate stud patterns it will fit the front and rear tailshaft with ease. Looking forward to installing this into the 55 this weekend.

My Auto Sparky has found a way to Jerryrig the old EDIC Motor after some bright spark (me) forgot to get the fuel control relay for the swap.

Big effort ticking off the final items of the mechanical side of the build. Tailshaft Spacer installed, Diesel Fuel primed to the pump, Sliders fabbed and Gearbox/Xfer Oils.

Looking forward to seeing how well those sliders hold up. If you can put a hi-lift jack under them and lift the tires off the ground without the sliders pushing into the sheetmetal anywhere, I’m sold!

Rush -They still need an inner gusset to put a bit more strength inside. That'll stop the square tube from cracking off the U Bracket. I have a similar set in my LC80 and can lift it on a Highlift Jack, however they're a bit shorter then these to the chassis.

Finished off the Warn CE M8000 Winch.
Cleaned up the outside and redid the motor oil I run inside of it.

New Solenoid Bracket made from scrap alloy I had.

Ode to the FJ40, tonight I trialed placement for the bonnet latches. With the radiator pushed forward a few things needed to be reworked. Sliders bolted up and looking shmick! Now time to fix the Clutch slave cylinder and we're off to the races.

Sorted out the Sliders.

Was able to clean up the H55F 5 Speed Gearbox hose and refillled ready for start up. Turns out the front output shaft leaks. Bugger.

Finalised the bumper bar for the 55. Decided not to do the hoop over the bonnet.
