What else should I add that you use in your garage?
I like insulated walls and heat but clearly that isn’t a priority for you!

If your welding at home I finally built a dedicated welding bench, it’s great at keep8ng the grinding mess away from the main bench & tool chest.

Acquiring tools is a slow process, you won’t know what your missing until you need it for a task, at least that’s my method.

I hear you! I'm about to

I hear you. I am about to start the Roof and Floor repairs. Time for some more clamps and a better welder.

I've set up some what of a Portable Trolley for the Welder.

2H Diesel Engine placement.
HJ60 Airbox fitted.
Catch-can fitted between Airbox with Oil Lines running neatly over the top.

Windscreen Washer Bottle tucked away on the Drivers side as well.

Fit the Power Steering hoses - Welding in the crush tubes next week.

Gravity bled the Brakes and Clutch over the week. Worked a treat!

Sliders have started as well, awaiting the Radiator to be built

Fingers crossed we'll put a can of Start Ya Barsted down and kick her in the guts' She'll be flying higher then Edison looking for Electricity.

Today was a good day. Went in search for a Fan Knob and came back with a Turbo Kit for the 2H.
This kit is from DTS.

Now this did come Low Mounted with a dump pipe. However the 55s Engine Bay would not fit in the Turbo Kit. The Manifold sits out 3 to 4" wider to accommodate.

The choices were to cut the Inner Guard and 'make room' or attempt to High Mount by Flipping the Manifold & Rotating the turbo for the Oil Lines.

Frankly, I am Torn between how I want it to sit.

I'll have it in the Engine Bay next week to test fit the High Mount, needing to allow space for the Battery & Exhaust.

Wish me luck.

Seems like you should have all sorts of room with the brake master and steering column outta the way?

You're right, being Right Hand Drive I save a lot of hassle with those.

The Wastegate Bellows rub into the guard about 50mm if I low mount it. The Turbo sits very close to the guard as well.

If I can't make the High Mount set up work then I'll cut into the guard and make it work. She'll be right!

Finally was able to rotate the Impella housing around and make the Wastegate Mechanism work again.

Spun the Oil Drain to the bottom for clearance. My very patient girlfriend as able to spin the housing whilst I opened the C Clip (Wrong Clip Pliers for the job)

Also checked the lines for blockages and found out the Oil Supply line was blocked. I'll have to get one made up from the local suppliers.

All and all, should be bolted up ready to go shortly!

Had some time to install the HJ60 DTS Turbo Kit into the FJ55s engine bay. High mounted does not fit with the DTS Manifold.

Turbo clashed with the Battery Tray and Blower Fan.

After a small modification to the Wastegate Mechanism and redoing all the work I had just put in, the Turbo is now low mounted.

Wastegate Bracket and Link needed to be massaged into position as it was clashing with the inner guard.

Dump pipe needs to be rotated 10mm to not hit the body.

Looks better all around going with the low mount. Exhaust will be easier to run. Are you going to run an intercooler or no?

No intercooler at the moment however I'd like to run a W2A Intercooler system if I went down that path.

Purchased all new Tees for the Coolant and Oil Lines. Had a new Stainless Braided Hose made up for the Coolant as it waa found to be blocked.

Brass Tees and 5/8' Barbs for the Coolant Connections.

Also plumbed up the Oil Pressure Sensor with a Tee Peice for Oil Feed to the Turbo. Oil Drain Mounted ready to tap into the Sump.

Found out the Coolant Spouts are pretty brittle and snapped one taking the hose off. Replaced with a Brass Barb 5/8'

My HJ55's new Radiator is in the final stages of being built.

4 Core Brass/Copper to fit inside the Radiator Support. Photos to follow.

It's 10% smaller in size but being thicker, is almost 30% greater surface area.

Custom Radiator now Installed and nut serted into the Radiator Support Brackets.

Now we're set up to prepare the Air conditioning Supports.

Needed to trim some of the bodywork to make the new Bonnet Mounts and Radiator Cap system work.
