but why not go with a CruiserCorps cap seeing the cluster and glove door(?) inserts you have? Tucker

Have the SOR gauge repro and it looks plastic-y...

Have been going rounds on what to do...

Order the SOR glovebox door and dash pad, then recover to match the door cards for the '76?

Or eliminate it all, scrapdaddy style, and paint the metal dash, metal door cards, metal gauge plate, and use Steve's on the '72?

Hope to recover seats, whatever they may be, with a matching product, too, so my thinking was keep the exact same finish throughout all.

was able to get off early and pick mine up. just peeked at them and they are sexy. the vinyl appears to be a marine grade vinyl, so i think it would be fine for recovery your dash chris.

I have been following the thread. It would not be an issue to use the same vinyl. There should be enough flexibility in the vinyl to deal with minor to mild moderate contours.

I would have to see photos of said items to know for sure.

Really those four pieces are it. Balance paints black, being the same black that'll continue throughout the interior.

The SOR gauge surround I have is tough plastic with a semi-embossed texture, that looks like plastic. (Not wanting to open, for fear of losing fasteners)

It's very rigid plastic. Hard as a rock.

If their glove box door and upper dash cap are constructed similarly, it be a good foundation ( I think ) structurally, due to rigidity.

Have a lower dash pad that's stated "in good condition" on the way, too, since I'll need for one of the two, anyway, but if it were built like SOR's gauge surround, and all could be recovered in a matching vinyl that'll last a long time, I'd reconsider redoing the OE dash.

I could provide the vinyl but not the talent. I would be concerned about the contours without sewing seams.

My time is stretched to thin to try to work this in.

I figured, but the material was all I'd be after, unless you were all over wanting to do it.

Have seen a few different companies that restore and recover and most seem to use a vacuum process that, I'm assuming, may not be common to every upholstery shop.

Just got my interior panel set, once I get my rig back together I will be able to take full benefit on Steve's great work. Thank you again Steve.

Just wanted to give an update on orders....

For those who have already purchased a set of panels and who have not rec'd them yet...we have had 2 ice/snow events in the Atlanta area and this has me backed up.

I am having to work non typical storm duty with the power co (my other job) and this is the reason for the delay. I am hoping in the next 2-3 weeks to be caught up on the existing panel orders. For those who are on my waiting list, I will be contacting you as soon as I get these three sets completed.

Hope you understand...this weather is so not usual for the Atlanta area

Steve

Steve,

If you were to attempt to reproduce, not just recover, the dash components and door pulls for a Pig, how would you suggest going about it, or whom would you contact?

Chris

This is a cap, but only pic I had.

Door pulls are easy and there's also a small lower dash pad not depicted.

Wish I could recall what I ordered, so I knew what was lacking from your list.

I think I'm lacking the kick panels and lower pillar panels.

Are those available separate to complete what I've already received?

I haven't purchased the panels yet and I might still go with Bob's alum. ones, but I know a good product at a fair price, when I see one.

Thanks for making these available to us.
