I have been searching to find a place to buy a softop for a fj45. Anyone know where one can be bought or made?

I will try calling him. I sent him a message here on mud a few weeks ago and he never responded.

Curious are you talking pickup or troopy? Both could be a FJ45. If pickup curious of the bows used.

Stock cab removable top FJ45 1965 pickup. I am looking to make my own bows or buy them from realsteal.

Does Realsteel make bows for the pickup cabs? Be curious to see a picture. Have a idea how to make one with bows I already have. Just would want them to work with any tops being made.

He said he can make a set of bows for 550.00

Trying another approach.

Just in case anyone else watching is looking for a Fj45 pickup soft top I wanted to share what I have found so far.

I contacted Todd at realsteal cruiser parts and he said he could make a bow set for a FJ45 pickup for 550.00. He said he had worked with Marshall from Trollhole cruisers in the past to develop a bow set for his soft tops.

I have emailed, sent a Mud message, and called and left a message with Marshall from Trollhole Cruiser's. So far he has not responded to any of it. It looks like he makes a nice product and might be a nice guy but so far he is a no show.

I have contacted Teq Tops, gr8ful here on mud, and it sounds like he would be willing to try and make at top but has a number of tops to work on for now and would not be able to get to it until maybe later this year. Possible option.

I have also contacted Alex at fjcolusa, he said he would be willing to try and make one but it would have to be later in the year as well. Possible option.

Just wanted to share what I was finding in the event anyone else was interested.

I am now considering repairing the hard top that I have and just using it.

Thanks for the info. I will be going down this route shortly and also contacted Trollhole with no response yet. I may wind up going with Icon if a cheaper (but quality) alternative is not found.

What does the Icon top cost?

Guesstimating off of what others have told me (that had bigger tops made by them), I'm thinking about 5K. I will post Icon's actual price if I go that route. If you hear back from Trollhole and he wants to me a couple, please hit me up.

Guambomb - I will let you know if I here back from him as well.

have you tried anyone local you may be surprised, I modified the frame from real steel for mine took it to upholstery guy in town, picked out the type of cloth and two weeks later I had a wonderful top for about 2k.

Nice !!

do you have any pics ?

Ward uses very high end German canvas that ranges about 150-200$ a yard

You can get a medium grade topping for about 55-75$ a yard

Or a marine synthetic canvas for around $20 yd

2k is a good deal if they used a mid grade... What material did they use @fj4045

Love to see the pics as well... Love FST's :)

I know this is an older thread, but has anyone had a 45 soft top made?

On my to do list maybe next year? Has to run and drive first. I figure can't b super hard to do. Test top might b ugly tho. I was going to start with sunbrella type material to get a pattern then go from there. Alan has a soft top for his I can copy
