Fj45 "sold"

newbie here, found an 1965 FJ45, pickup style. guy wants $500.00 for it. he is basically the original owner, he bought it in 1970. used it on his farm the entire time to plow snow. he says it is a total rust bucket and needs major work or swap for a new body/frame etc. it has 58K orig. miles and runs tho. i have not seen it, only talked to the guy. is this a good price? is it worth the effort to rebuild or would it be smarter to find one in better condition?

Pics will tell a lot - a tailgate alone is worth that much.

well its prolly is worth it......if your up to the task

no a blue flame 6 was not a Toyota motor, but the F motor is similar to the chevy stovebolt 6......which I suspect is what he means

here is a pic

it will cost me $500.00 plus shipping. buddy of mine will go get it for $700.00. he does have the bed, the bottom is rusted, but he says the sides are ok. thought i posted a pic?

Is that going to cost you $1200?

looks like all you'll get that's worthwhile on that is the titile and little things. body and frame are probably trashed.

Hmmmmmmmmmm....

That looks like a deal for 500-700 (max) if you plan to part it out or make a serious project out of it and perhaps one other truck. It doesn't look like the best thing to start with (outright) for a resto.

Without seeing the box and tailgate, I'd say it's iffy. If the frame is simply rusted to bits and the box is toast, then you're not left with much you can't find elsewhere. You could buy it as trading fodder, but....

If you live in the snow belt, get the plow bits and have the coolest plow truck around!

Get out there and buy that thing before someone else does. That is unless it looks like this: https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=74507&highlight=rust otherwise I can't see how you would ever go wrong by spending $500.

I retract my statement Your Honor. Factoring in the shipping cost, unless there is some things that we are not seeing in the 1 picture you posted, then I don't know if it is worth it.

Good one! Mine looks cherry compared to that one!

only one way this is worth $500.

1) Drive to CT.

2) Pick all the parts you can carry that are good and pick up specific less frame

3) run away

not worth shipping (been there, done that)

Run away..................and send me the info..........bottomfeeder here.

Seriously, no interest in another Cruiser right now. Truck looks very familiar. I can take a look at it for you if it's not too far away. PM me.

I've never seen a 45 so sad before.:frown: IT HURTS MY EYES!

Interestingly enough, it looks like the roof and the top half of the cab/ windshield frame are still intact. Those could ALL make somebody looking for that stuff for a DIFFERENT 45 very happy.

That is just a parts rig now.:frown:
