Hi-

I would like to have my mechanic connect the parking brake on my 1969 40. The truck had the 2F motor installed when it was re-done. There appears to be a parking brake cable, but it is not hooked up and I do not have the handle. The attached image looks like the cable that is under my hood. Any idea if this will work if I find a handle? And if so, what handle should I look for? I am assuming a later FJ with the 2f motor. Thanks!

The brakes are all drum brakes right now and this cable is hooked to the transfer case I believe.

the drum on the rear of the transfer case is the park brake.
question is, if it has all the guts inside, shoes, levers, etc
for a brake handle, post in the classifieds, there are several pieces to it.
A pic under the dash above the gas pedal, where your right knee would be, will show what you have or not have.

Tks. I’m assuming it has all the guts as if is connected to the rear drum. The cable runs under the hood but stops there. It was never connected inside the truck or to a handle.

Thank you.

@3_puppies

my 1965 paper parts cataloger has a 46410-60020

i checked both #'s

60020 and 60021

both cover exact same application dates range but DO NOT supercede it seams

do u know why this is ?

maybe @Living in the Past

@ToyotaMatt
there are 2 different styles in the pics in this thread,
the OP posted a pic with a "T" on the end to go to the pull handle assembly
pic you posted has an eye and needs a pin to attach to the pull handle assembly
