I’ve heard good things about Peter Merriam (Merriam Automotive). He is an LC specialist
^^ THIS ^^

Years ago, Peter installed my power steering (mini truck version) into my FJ40. Great guy to deal with.

Agree on Peter. He helped me with my ‘82 with giving it a tune up, addressing carb issues and installing OME shocks, new springs and lift. I need to go back to him for her no-so annual physical :)

I’m in the Alpharetta area, so let @GA Architect and me know if you ever want to meet up! Would love to meet you.

I just bought a 1976 FJ40. It was restored about 10 years ago. I really need someone to take a look at the carb. It is running rich plus I want someone to give it a once over.....Timming, plugs, carb adjust...etc.
I just moved to Jasper and dont really want to go to ACC because traveling on I285.
I saw someone you name Peter Mirriam. Is that the place on Buford Highway?

Yes, Merriam Automotive - 3568 Buford Hwy # 105, Ste 105, Duluth, GA, 30096

Peter helped me out and was good. You might also want to reach out to Speed Auto (Alpharetta location - (770) 751-7074) and engage their tech named Jeremy. He installed a sniper for me and my ‘82 runs awesome now. I had multiple conversations with him before having him do the job so I would feel I comfortable that he knew what he was doing. He’s legit and might know some people more up your way.

Those of us in North Atlanta need to get together!

Thanks for all the information. If you done mind me asking....how much did you have in your Sniper install? I think I read you need the Holly Sniper kit, Hei distributor, Some misc parts for the install that I think Red Line Cruisers sells.
And Yes once I get this 40 running good we should meet up sometime and talk LC's

I bought some items from Redline cruisers and they are a great group of guys. I’m also planning on running a sniper kit once I get a coolant leak taking care of.
Also I’ll be going through Jasper heading to Blairsville here in the next hr or so.

Non-40 owner infiltrating...

Does the group know if Merriam works on later models as well? I've got an 80 I'd like to get a few maintenance items knocked off the list that I've been staring at and a 200 that just needs the typical intervals. I live up towards the mountains, but my office is down the road in Lawrenceville. Could be a perfect match...

Thanks,
Tyler

Those North ATL meetings are already happening - join in the first Saturday of each month at Manhattan Bagels in Peachtree Corners at 8am, or one of the upcoming trail runs

I didn't even know of Yota Atlanta. I'll have to see if I can make it down south some time. I'm a part of the Upstate Cruisers TLCA.

I'm in Habersham county - time to get off my tail and take care of a couple things that have been bugging me on the 80. Especially now that the weather has been cooling down - it's Cruisin' Season.
