Yep, Harry pushes the envelope. Now he's off in full size Ford land. Have you sen his green monster? I drove it last time I was up in Reno. What a beast.

Thanks. There are not a lot of motor swaps (especially LS-1s) into series rovers documented. It has all been pretty much uncharted territory other than some info/help from Timm Cooper. Plus the 88" is so damn small.

Tim has a really cool mustard yellow Landy with a Chevy 6. That thing is totally off the wall.

What is it with Harry and green trucks?

I have a few more pics that I found on my camera.

The short two piece driveshaft mounting was one of the last things I had to get done, and it posed a problem. I had only about 3 hours to get it done before the customer came to pick it up. It's pretty down and dirty, but it should work just fine. Please don't laugh...

I used CJ shackle mount bushings and cut the flange off one and stuffed it inside between the two outers. I cut a sleeve of .120 wall DOM for the inside of the bushing. The two are welded together to keep the rocking of the the bearing to a minimum. I had other ideas, but this got the job done.

That's funny. I bought a '68 CJ5 about a year ago to do some R&D on. I put it up on the 4 post lift and was poking around it to see what could stay and what had to go. Well the short story is that IT ALL HAD TO GO!!! There was nothing on that stock CJ5 that was remotely usable. So in that case, the whole Jeep was a donor...to another owner.

I figure I had between 250 and 300 hours into the FJ project. That's just fab work.

Saginaw Jeep Drop steering arms can be useful.. Other than that...

Actually, the D300 is not bad either.

Actually, Dana was owned by the Chrysler corporation when the D300 was developed... simply because Jeep bought it (and AMC) doesn't technically make it a Jeep part.

I bought my 1st 4x4 in college, and I had a choice between a FJ40 and a CJ7 - there really is no comparison between the two except that the FJ40 gives the template for what is needed to make a Jeep somewhat reliable offroad.
