True not all Jeep parts are worthless, I repaired the AX15 (Asin) transmission in my sons XJ. It seems pretty well built.

But that's not a Jeep part either - Aisin built it. Aisin builds for all the manufacturers (like Dana)... I'm hoping the A5 transmission I'm using is stout enough.... it's the next gen of the AX15 - built by Aisin-Warner - Warner, of the Borg-Warner stout SuperT-10 fame....

mechanically speaking about all of a Jeep that is truly Jeep built is their motors (of which there are some good ones).

We're saying "jeep part" as in a part that came off a jeep, not because it was designed and manufactured by Jeep. :rolleyes:

Pretty much true of every vehicle out there, they are all built out of off the shelf parts more or less. Saginaw, Sanden, Denso, Delco, Dana, etc etc.
Consider the recent air bag recall, how many vehicle brands world wide were affected by that?
