FJ40 4 wheel studs sheered off??? (1 Viewer)

What would cause 4 whee studs to sheer?

FJ40
410 gear
1 1/2 inch spacer
Running 33’s
right rear only. Left rear is fine…no issues
disk brake conversion

They are “Stuck” to the lug nuts. Which might indicate they rusted to the studs? Might be worth taking them apart to see why they got stuck.
I don’t use an impact at all on lug nuts.
I think OEM are available from Toyota replace them all, both sides. Cheap insurance

The fracture faces look like there is beach marks which is indicative of fatigue fractures. I don't know the cause of the initial fracture. Since you still have the pieces, I'm guessing that they broke off while you were removing them?

Hard to tell in the pics but one looks like a brittle fracture. More sudden failure. Maybe siezed to the lug nut like mentioned. Over torque like mentioned?

I’m at 4 wheel parts. It turns out it was my faul. I didn’t recheck torques and no locktiight anywhere
