LOL, that reminds me of my brand new 1999 Phillips I just found again in the fender...
Was your 80 undercoated sprayed at the dealer? I had the same goopy oil/ tar coating everywhere but where it mattered. Now gone. I suppose it kind of helped.

Haha, nope. That is dirt and grease from the rear u-joints....
 
On installing the Derale cooler I drilled and tapped the frame. I started thinking about future bleeding of the system and I would want to remove the bolts every time. This would give the cooler a good angle of the dangle for bleeding. I came to the conclusion the thread engagement might not be reliable enough for this. Maybe I am wrong, who knows... So I installed rivet nuts instead.

There will never be a need to remove the cooler for bleeding. In fact, what I learned during the bleeding process following my hydro assist install this spring is that filling the system and going through the FSM process of turning the wheel lock to lock with engine off 50-60 times and then letting it sit overnight to allow remaining air to rise up to the reservoir works very well. I was working at the bleeding process for 15-20 minutes and experiencing lots of fluid foaming and pump cavitation when the wife called me in for dinner. The rig sat over night. The next morning I went out to resume the process and much to my pleasure, bubbles and pump noise were no longer happening. Keep in mind my system is rather complicated what with a brake hydro booster, aftermarket reservoir, hydro cylinder and the derailed cooler. Lots of hoses. You are very meticulous, nice work.

Likely true. I have read mixed information without my own experiences. Nonetheless, the thread engagement alone is an upgrade I am happy with.
 
All my various Breeze hose clamps finally came in, so I finished up the transmission cooler hoses today.

How much work in involved in swapping those out?

5 min a side with everything already out like I have it in the bay...Swivly impact on the nuts, raise swap done. Soaked em all weeks ago with penetrant.
