I dont know whats wrong. The lights were working, except headlights. Then all of a sudden nothing when i pull the light switch i checked fusable link i am getting power to it. I am getting [power to the fuse box. I have an electric fuel pump and when i turn the key it comes on and it tapped right into a fuse. Uggh im not good with this electric stuff. I am just guessing maybe the headlight switch went bad?

That sucks, looks like the 73 and up are discontinued everywhere.
i know and i dont even truley know if thats the problem. Started to get frustrated. JT outfitters kind screwed me over also. Come to find after the long delay with shipping my brakes, i go to start putting it together after pressing bearings and new studs, no front brackets. i just dont get it. I ordered the parts the 25th of april. I wouldnt of minded if they didnt have it in stock but just tell me so i dont tare it all apart you know. Sorry for bitching. But shiiiit!

Dani it could be a grounding issue. Be sure all of your original ground straps are making a good connection.

I had the same thing happen on my 1974. I removed the headlight switch and took it all apart VERY CAREFULLY (lots of little pieces!), and cleaned all the contacts. Works fine now.

Don't give up on the switch yet. I had the same issue with my '73. Headlights work one second and then no headlights. I pulled the switch apart and cleaned then put back together, still nothing. I tried new headlight connectors, unplugged just about everything and plugged it back in but no love. My brother went over the whole electrical system and couldn't figure out why the headlights were not working. Then calls me out to the garage to show me something, working headlights. I asked him what it was and he said he did not know. All of a sudden they just worked again. I'm thinking it was simply a poor ground that eventually made contact again.

What I'm saying is don't give up the switch may not be the problem.

Think I figured out most of it but my blinkers won't work. I hear the switch click. A slow blink and that's it.

Had a low beam out and had to adjust headlights but it's all good with that part. All rear lights are working. No blinkers or back up light. But I pretty sure I can get the back up light to hook up.

You may have to install a separate ground for each turn signal light. It is very common after a rebuild to need this.

The blinking works on the amount of current passing thru the flasher. X2 on adding non-factory grounds, from the chassis of the lamp all the way to the firewall.

For $30 @Coolerman can hook you up with a Flasher Relay Kit that solves a lot of issues. Simple to install. Works great on my 1974. I would install one on my truck even if I didn't have any problems since it stops grounding issues in the future.

Cruiser Wiring. Click on Flasher Relays/Adapters, then scroll to the bottom.
