Glad to hear all went well (aside from your first exit), looking forward to more pics and hopefully seeing it in person.

All the drill bits were good and Sharp. Joey only broke one of them. The bits he was throwing out were the old springs, shocks, etc. The truck drove very well. I was surprised it drove so nicely with the lift.

New height numbers:

Tire - Ground to fender - Hub center to fender - Tire top to fender
LF --- 38.75" ------------- 23.75" ----------------- 8"
LR --- 39.65" ------------- 24" -------------------- 8.25"
RF --- 38.875" ----------- 23.5" ------------------ 7.75"
RR --- 40" ---------------- 24.25" ----------------- 8.5"

I am getting a little bit of cruiser lean but its not too noticeable.

Ah, plates weren't pre-drilled. That was my confusion. The ones I bought were drilled, and just had to shave the bracket.

No these were not pre-drilled but I can see the advantage in going this way. Its custom to the truck and its just...right.

the issue with this is that on the passenger side the bit must pass through the outside part of the bracket to drill the inside do to the fact that the diff is on that side. But if the largest hole for those bits was 5/8" then no problem.

Not the easiest install I know but I feel the results are worth it.

We got it all worked out by cutting about an inch from the 5/8" drill bit to allow it to sit inside the chuck far enough to be able to get the drill and bit in place. All the others were ok. The passenger rear is a complete pain in the ass. The rest get easier from there.

FWIW just giving them a visual doesn't tell you the while story. Stick the arm in a vice, and then using a long round bar, tweak the bushings this way and that way. If you see cracks opening up, time to pay the Piper :D

Oh I'm sure they are trashed. That's why I am throwing away my old control arms and stuff. I have no need for them plus I cant picture anyone else wanting them. Although they are in perfect condition :flipoff2:

I will order up the correct bushings and then drop the LCA and have them pressed it. These look like a pain in the ass.

kind of too early to look at this stuff. You need to drive on them some and let things settle in.

Can you get into the garage?

enough with your Chinese bits already . I've used the same bits on more than 10 installs with out a problem. I will admit to sharpening them regularly.

Yeah I don't think these were Chinese bits. Peter knows the story of them. As Peter said, I only broke one and it wasn't from that set :hillbilly:

How does it drive?

How does it drive? Why is that all people care about :flipoff2:

First realize I have 306k on my bone stock suspension. Other than some bits from RETRO a few years ago to help out my tired suspension its all original. It rode ok given its age. It was fairly smooth but very very stout. Steering was always perfect. Fast forward to today...

I've never experienced a driveline vibe before so I might not know one if I experienced one. But my truck drives PERFECT. Nothing shakes, nothing rattles. Just smooth. We didn't get to replace all of the tie-rods so I do get a tiny bit of wander to the left. Its very minor. Also, the steering wheel centers a touch to the right. Maybe 1.5deg is all. Again, once the new tie-rods, LCA bushings and steering damper go in then I will get it aligned and all will be good. Drove it on the frwy for about 25 miles. Drives like a dream. I don't feel any higher since my 60 is already lifted. But it is damn smooth. The OME Sport shocks seem to do their work just fine because I can't really find fault in them yet. Of course I have yet to do anything other than street and frwy driving. No hard stops not quick reflex driving nor anything offroad yet.

But I must say, I expected a lot of driving issues. I,m not experiencing any of them. I really could not be happier with the results.

Now I decided a few weeks ago that I was going to go with everything LANDTANK had to offer. I kept ordering other options just in case I saw something that I felt was a better solution. Everything LANDTANK that I bought made it to my truck. Everything was thought through and I am happier for it. It was more work but it was worth it in the end. More to do and I will make notes of the things I need to do.

Anyone considering LANDTANK's kit for 4" lift needs to SERIOUSLY consider it.

More to come...

Oh totally. I knew it was going to settle. Heck it settled 2" just sitting over night. I will check again in a few weeks though.

Thanks for the kind words and I'm glad you are happy with the results. Wait on the TREs until the panhard joints arrive. Centering the axles will further skew the steering wheel which will need to be adjusted for via the relay rod.

Absolutely. Its on my list that I will make a new post on so that I don't forget anything ;)
