Fender liners?

Hey guys.

I live three miles from pavement now and the county does a very good job of keeping our gravel road gravelly. I'm wondering what options you might recommend for protecting my new front fenders (black to not match the red which is chipping off in places to show the original baby poop color of the rest of the body). It pains me psychologically to hear the rocks bashing into the inside of my fenders. It also pains me physically because it's really loud.

I've seen stuff like Rhino Liner used. Is that sort of thing best or is there some sort of plastic I can buy to fabricate my own fender liners?

Rhino lining will work the best.

I had mine LineX'd and there are still a couple very faint dimples from the errant rock slung by the tire. I was just looking at it today actually. I had a thought to made some Kydex liners to prevent further damage, but the trick would be to mount them in such a way as to prevent moisture retention that would promote rust...

... for now, I'll just stick with the rock dents.

I’ve also seen LineX or similar tinted to match body colour. That way it’ll look more like stock. I’m sure Polyethylene could also be vacuum moulded or even just shaped with a heat gun. Kydex wouldn’t be as durable or easy to clean as polyethylene. Some careful placed sheets of 1/16” polyethylene would limit the amount of damage done by rocks. Good or bad, almost nothing will stick to Polyethylene.

Thanks for the replies! I'll get that done when it comes time to paint. We still have to decide on green or blue paint. Oh yeah ... and then come up with the money.

I wonder if it would make a difference on the bedliner product??? It seems to me that LineX is a very stiff liner, where Rhino and Reflex are more of a rubbery product?? I wonder if the rubbery ones would do a better job at protecting the metal/paint underneath? Just curious if anyone has any experience with other brands...
