I love the idea. Two thoughts:

One, would the light be able to angle up and down?

Two, we're (the Royal we?) are always concerned about airflow into the engine bay. I wish this could be accomplished without killing alrflow.

Yes. Full rotation of the light.

Agreed on airflow, I've got my guy looking for ideas on patterns that will do both.

We changed our plan to go high, It was brought up and agreed upon to be the best choice.

What kind of pricing? Do you think the stock plastic grill would be up to the task of securely holding the light bar?

Yes it does a decent job of holding my 20" bar ....

I took a break away from the PC for a few weeks.....

I did get my prototype grille installed today. Many changes will need to be made.

-Bolt mounting tabs to grille with black stainless socket hardware and nylon flange nuts.
-The mounting brackets for the light will be set back and TIG welded as forming this is just ugly.
-Decrease edge to 1/2" and the grid spacing to allow greater air flow.
-Radius corners need attention.
-Mounting tabs will be slotted and thinner gauge for ease of installation.
-All will come powder coated BK303 soft texture matte black


Grille will come powder coated black, and will include 14" e-Vision LED US made CREE light bar, electrical harness and stainless steel mounting hardware.

Man I've been thinking about this for a long time. My original plan was to go Treeroot's woven mesh route and incorporate a ~20" bar with the old
T O Y O T A emblem. There's a lot of work and coin involved, but this is showing some promise and I'm looking forward to the PC'd version. Any chance we could get them raw or just primed?

As far as I know of, any light that is not a fog light at a specific height is not street legal.

I wont have any powder coated until I work out the kinks. I am OCD and leave very little to be improved upon.

Yes, you can save some $$$ and get them raw stainless. I am sure someone will want to have hydrographics on theirs.

I, personally, would never pay $700 for that. Haven't seen anyone else commit either so this may not be an advantageous endeavor. Just my opinion.

Thanks for taking the time to develop this idea, I like Luke111's idea of the grille without the light and depending on cost, I'd be interested in a group buy as well/

$57 I think I had paid for it, cheap by all means, but installing the grille is not for the weak. I am a little OCD so I taped mine up so I wouldn't scratch the chrome face and to do it in a production style, I would get a horse stall mat to work on. I measured and looked and measured and cut and cut more. It took me 2 hours to wrangle that thing in there. The next one will be easier with the tab modifications I am making. Plus I wouldn't have to buy any boxes ;o)

I need to find the correct blade as the one I was using was melting the plastic after I cut it, that irritated me.
