If the cel blinks for example, two times then pauses and blinks six times, then its code 26.I agree with pulling the EFI fuse to reset your codes and a good gas additive to clean engine and injectors...can't hurt along with a tank of high octane. Drive it for a day or two and see of you get your CEL. If you do, take a paper clip and jump E1 and TE1 terminals in your OBD port located on the firewall passenger side. Once the paper clip is in, turn your key to on, but do not start the engine. Count the blinks on your CEL and report back. IF you have a CEL, that'll at least get you started on what may be wrong and causing your OBD failure.
He/She drove 10hrs back after buying it. Very good chance it was purchased out of state.The selling party is responsible for smoging the vehicle in California. They are legally required and responsible for the costs. I know it doesn't help in the trouble shooting but you might get them to cover the cost of the fix.
