First page, post #14.

Hope you don't mind. Here are some of the full length bikini on a Metal Tech cage. This one is grey and Jim made it from some Cordura material he had. Great product!

front rail is a little different/simpler than the Specter regular bikini I had. Instead of a plastic flap you slot into the rail, the plastic in the OCD is in a material pocket and you just fold the canvas over the rail.

The rear has absolutely no interference with the rear view mirror.

D rings and straps feel very sturdy. I like this setup best over all previous tops and connections I've used. Should probably move my footman loops..

Very happy with my purchase. Glad to see Trollhole take up the product line.

Marshall, I saw another post where you stated you had had a heart attack. I trust you're doing better. How are you?
I'm really interested in a soft top for my troopy. I could use it as soon as you can get it done. If you can do this, I'll get the color and material requests to you. Again, I hope you're feeling better. Let us know how you are. Thanks, rog.
ps, I'm going to need a new carb too.

Glad to hear your feeling better. Do you sell the cage for the soft top on a fj40 too? If so price delivers to nj

Thank you

Greetings Marshall. I've been out of town taking care of my parents and just got back. I'm back on the rebuild now and would like to follow up with you on the troopie soft top. I'd like the sandlewood color. The distance between the door (pictured here) and the back of the bucket is 89 1/2 inches. I have ambulance doors. If you need any other pics, just let me know. BTW, I'm in Deep Gap, NC. Thanks and look forward to hearing from you. rog

Any cost estimate on doing a 4 door soft top?
Basically exactly like an icon. Plus the best top upper doors.
I am thinking of doing it in a Mercedes Hartz material. With a inner jute layer sandwiched between two layers of material.
What do you think? Can you pull that off?

I know it would cost a lot more but that doesn't matter. I'm just curious if it's possible with your manufacturer.

Thanks!

Look at Sonnenland and the A5 material. It's the German Hartz material you want. It's crazy expensive. Like 110 to 145 a yard. It has different crosshatch backing on it. But it's the best of the best. You cant get any better material. Probably use the black polyester backing instead of the normal cotton. Sonnenland has the Butyl rubber innercore. Super quiet compared to anything else.

I'm sure I can do a 4 door top. I've had people already ask me to make them a top for the Aqualu 4 door 40 that is on the 80 chassis.

Anything is possible. But I cannot copy Icon's design. I'd have to ask Jonathon at Icon if it's okay. He has said yes before so who knows. He's a stand up guy.

Thx for the reply.
It would not be a copy of the icon in design. I would actually go for the old school split rear side window. :)
The material you mention sounds great.
Do you know if there are any color choices other than black?
Thx for everything!

if you don't mind the fabric having a square pattern instead of a diamond pattern Haartz Stayfast fabric is pretty much the exact same thing as sonneland and only 80 bucks a yard or so... only... it's the american version of german canvas
