Here are some pics we took this morning just outside Boulder City, Nevada. Our FJZ80 (Elsie) is a work in progress. Let me know what you think.

These pictures have *awesome* written all over .

The only thing missing is myself somewhere enjoying that beautiful landscape.;)

Elsie looks great. Keep us posted on progress.

That looks like a great ride! I've considered a RTT but I've never been able to pull the trigger. You like it? Just curious, what rear bumper is that?

Best,

M

I'm curious too. Almost looks like a Kaymar with Slee quarter panel guards.

It is a Kaymar. The sides and hoops were added by a PO. I like the concept but will be redoing them in the future. I also made the Kolpin water/fuel jug box and high-lift mount. (Thread on MUD). I love the Kaymar for the wide step on top.

I love the RTT. Wife approves as well. Very easy to put up.

very nice !!

cool

nice rig, just got an rtt myself, cant wait to try it out, I used to do a lot of expedition trips in the nevada desert on motorcycles, been thinking about doing a trip with the cruiser, hard to believe the desert can be so beautifull and have so much to see.

Great Job

Beautiful rig, would look perfect in the Nevada Desert or Gobi or Sahara or Aussie Outback. We just got a RTT too. From stopping to sleeping in under 10 minutes. And your awning is an awesome addition. Great work. Are those MaxTraxx? Where did you get them?
Cheers,
Greg

Thanks for the kind words. Yes they are MaxTrax. I got them from a friend.

Your truck has the same name as mine! And I thought I was original....... Nice looking rig by the way!!

Thanks for the kind words! Do you have a link or pics of yours?

JD, did you fab that water/gas container module yourself or did you buy it from somewhere? That thing is brilliant.

Thanks for the kind words... I built it myself. I wanted something to hold Kolpin jugs specifically. I didn't just want a basket either. With the door I can slide the jugs in and out without having to life them over the top edge. The security rod goes through every jug and helps to keep honest people honest. ;p
The plastic trim moulding at the top keeps everything tight and rattle-free. There is no pressure on the door. The security rod is what keeps the jugs from moving. (The looming tape on the brass lock is to prevent rattles and damage to the paint.)

I don't want to get into trouble here but I could easily make more. :D

Here's the link to my bumper/box build:
