I think the upside down bezel was the cause of the failure.
Good luck with the conversion. That's going to be sweet!

I think we will turn the 40 over to fix the bezel issue. Easiest solution!! 313 is going to be neat. We are targeting a direct drive system to T-Case.

With the direct drive to the T-Case do you plan on changing diff gear ratios?

Math pending but not unless we have to... 313 motor package may just allow it to be.... More later.

Sooo much original goodness to this truck it will be a neat platform for the new eGT313 "Flat 6" styled electric motor system. 53kWh w DC fast charging... Direct drive to T-Case.... and more neatness coming.

De-ICE'ing completed

would love one of these conversions in Australia if the price allows. Great work.

Aiming for a modular replicable system with this build with all new components on the powertrain end to end. The results of the primary build above + all the 413 learning curve:!! Wait to see that system come out in the next few weeks......

I haven't seen anything mentioned about your plans for power steering? That's going to be an issue in a 60 and I'm sure would go nicely in a EV converted 40 as well.

How do you like the height on that back seat? I'm considering building a box for half the bed as storage and mounting the Conferr bench to it, so it would sit about the same height.

Functional. No problem. And it adjusts forward back which is nice. The new 313 development project will have the modules fitted differently to preserve side seating and take advantage of the new OXD battery design flexibility. Aiming for 53kWh but will assess total capacity on this new build for a more placement and build design solutions.

Matt- As this is a 40 build we have not discussed 60 plans..... BUT - We used a 12v Power Steering solution in the 1st FJ40 per early thread posts. It works well and is not part of the HV system. We do have a HV Hydraulic pump solution that we are using in the 60 and Bronco and others... It can run both power steering and Hydro-boost brakes.... There are also 12v options for hydraulic pumps for less $.

Any chance you would be willing to share the 3D scans? I’m working on planning out my build in CAD right now and a scan of the engine bay would be a huge help for packaging.

Distribution of engineering files limited to in-house use.

Price out renting a Faro arm as well as a technician to run it for you for the day and you’ll see why they won’t share the files :)
