I doubt you'll find the EDIC controller diagram anywhere. Those sorts of things are not generally repaired or considered repairable.

Is your truck a 12v or 24v truck?

My truck is 24v. I tried the search...I think the box could be repaired if i just could find a diagram. It cost´s a lot of money to get new box from toyota.

They do not show the inside of the edic box in the FSM wiring diagrams. Not sure if anyone would know it.

My advice, open it up. Or have a repair place look at it. In my guess there is just a collection of relays and diodes with resistors in there. It should be a as simple as finding the failed component. You may luck out and find a hot spot inside where a resistor failed or diode. Then it would be just to solder one in.

Try a repair shop. Might even be a diagram on the inside of the unit. G-luck.

If you do venture to open it up....could you be so kind as to post pics of the guts and/or any home-brew wiring diagrams?

I am very curious to know how simple or complicated this group of relays is.

back in the days of DTLC Greg Reimer was repairing these things and he said they were pretty straight forward and easy to repair.
Go to birfield and look up the archives of the DTLC and punch in the search what you want or his name...you will find good info.
HTH'S , Daryl...oh and

I fixed mine. Its dead easy. A little logic is all it took. It works similar to a windshield wiper motor.

Did you take pics when you open it .. ?

here are some pics.
First: how I got into this problem in the first place

note that the water is about an inch from my mirror. I was at a pretty steep angle, maybe 30 percent? Maybe more? My buddy has better pictures, I was busy making a new crease in the driver's seat (major pucker factor).

Here are the edic relay photos

the last one here is the wires. This diagram assumes you are looking at the spade terminals inside of the plastic connector, with the clip of the connector on top.

I have the same issue after this ..

My edic motor come crazy and attemp to stop the engine each time .. I disarm, clean, clean again with WD40 and finally use contact creaner from 3M,

here are two more of the edic relay

i'm going to clean mine out one more time tonight-- hot water, then maybe wd40, then contact cleaner.... also a toothbrush... and put it together with fingers crossed

Once it works again, I'm planning to seal the damn thing up with silicone sealant and put it inside of something water-tight.

I think Toyota could have chosen a much better place to mount this *very* important doodad. Maybe in the dash?

It gonna function again .. trust me .. it's bullet proof .. so I hold the moving EDIC relay idea for a long while, I also do a sealant process with spray silicone .. but not much than that .. anycase I'm not plannning do as submarine very often :D

If you found some " sealed box " post pic ..

I fixed mine. It was a Canadian 12v tough. If cleaning doesn't work, don't loose your time trying to figure out witch pieces need replacement. start by replacing all the diodes (the small tubular black and blue components). I used 1amp 400v diodes for mine and it works perfect. If this fails, than move on to the transistors (black with 3 feets) than, the capacitor (little purple tower) always respect the ratings and you'll be fine. Mine didn't need further replacements but is was shorted rather than drawned :grinpimp:

you should also verify that the relays (coper wire bobbins) still click when you apply current to them if they don't you may need to replace them but thats unlikely.

If you need advice any guy working in an electronics supplies shop can help. the supplies I used to repair mine cost under 5$.

good luck

Hey ! I just noticed that your box is 12v just like mine ... careful If you apply current to your relays !

pic of my repaired edic relay.

and a little box with rubber gasket I found at the same place I bought my components for 6$

I was planning to do this for some time :D

Good News!
All is well in EDIC land again.
As it turns out it was the relay AND the motor... the relay got filled with mud, which made it do something funky that ended up with the motor not working (and getting some pits in the dial).
I've got some decent photos of the whole thing, all taken apart. I cleaned the relay well, then dismantled the motor, then cleaned/greased the motor, re-assembled, and sprayed it with silicone (heavily).
Now I'll look for a solution to keep the relay from getting wet/muddy again-- short term it'll have a ziplock baggie hat. Eventually I plan to mount a plastic enclosure and/or seal the little metal box.
Pics to follow as soon as I get them off the camera and onto the internet.

Funny .. this sat I pic my Tencha to usual run out of buddyes garage around the town and my EDIC relay start clicking and sure triying to shut off my 2H

damn ! I need to check all ..

Is the edic arm going to off/on/off/on continuously? My BJ60 is doing this as well. I had the same thing on my 2H a while back and it was a bad ground between the engine and chassis. This isn't the case with the 3B, as far as I can tell.
