Thanks in advance to anyone willing to help.
I have an 81 bj42 24v. I'm not very educated with the electrical side of mechanics and have been cruising through posts to find any related solutions and have found nothing that relates to my problems. I'm sure one is out there I'm just not finding it.
The problem is when i start the bj the edic goes from the shut off position into the over-inject position but as soon as i release the key into the run position the edic immediately goes back into the off position. I didn't think it was oil pressure problem due to lack of delay before edic goes into off position but i figured i'd start with the cheap and easy first. I have tested the oil pressure and it seems fine. I also tested the oil pressure switch and it seemed fine as well but with my limited knowledge i replaced it anyway not trusting my readings, still no change. After many hours of reading posts i figured maybe the problem was with the fuel/edic relay, i guess it seems to be a common issue for people. Maybe having more extra money than skill or brains i decided to order a new relay hoping it would fix the problem. After a prayer and plug in, my problem still continues.
I have tried reading wiring diagrams however they read like hieroglyphs to me so here i am.
Not to confuse the issues however i have recently noticed that now the preheat for the glow plugs is not working. maybe a separate issue altogether as i don't remember it being a problem the same day the rig died but maybe it was.
