it came from my car give it back

:confused:I could of sworn if came out of the 62 I bought a couple of years back. That was a hard top nad he say he had a hard top. Plus the fact there was s dried up weather stripping for the back hatch of the hard top.

I still need to find the article from Rick D. Maybe it's not even the right tool kit for a 62. But Ill bet I have the correct year cruiser for this tool kit somewhere.

 tells you I know you wre kidding and I was kidding you back. My wife is surprised I don't bring it to bed at night.

I checked my pile of TT's...and 02' was the year i took off from TLCA $$$ issues...and 08' till today...same issues...sorry i cant help ya out...however...wasnt it a picture thats been here on mud?

I dropped the TLC a few years ago. Mainly because it was to hard to get someone on the phone to renew. But that was well after 2002 so I should have that one in the box I have. I have a ton of old printer paper boxes with parts in. When I moved the shelves out of the cabin and into the garage I put them back to back making it harder to dig thru. I try and give my pallet shelving in the second garage in town another look and then at the cabin next time.

Looks like they are missing a couple of screw drivers. Plus the canvas roll I have the lug wrench loops are bigger to take the two piece lug wrench.

Still haven't been able to find the box with all my old Trails. Anybody have the article that could email it to me? Johnny?

the article is May/June of 2002, let me know if your interested in a copy of the article still

if the owners manual you have in the tool kit is original to the tool kit that that would be a helpful clue

that manual is either '62 or '63, I can't recall right now. the two years had identical graphics on the owners manual but one was colored in a green base and other in a purple base. if you look at the very end of the manual there will be an illustration of the front frame horn showing location of the frame's vin number, I'm betting it says 3-FJ40xxxx

anyway, your tool kit is either a '62 or '63 in my opinion

The owner's manual didn't come in the tool kit but I got two manuals that are the same with all the other items. I believe these were his and his bother's owner's manuals. The guy seem to think it was a 65 but I don't think so. I believe the family was also one of the early garage dealers Toyota had in the beginning, so can't say for sure.:meh: If I remember the VIN started with a 1. I also have one of these manuals but the number on the back was different. I'll look tonight and report what I find.

One thing that scares me is I remember thinking to myself I needed to find the May 2002 trails to find the article. Then I noticed Rick had just say 2002. Now you say May/June 2002.

Your right all three have a picture with the VIN starting with 3. Two of them have No. 6040 on the back. The third one has No. 97200. Haven't noticed any difference inside yet. Cover has more purple than green lines. Darker purple on top switching to a lighter purple on the lower part.

Recognize this One?

Is this an early bag? I found it about 10 years ago. No tools.

That's a later roll.....I had one that came out of a '71. The earlier ones are a heavy canvas.....this one (if it is the same as the one I had) feels like vinyl. It also is not as comprehensive as the earlier one (no ballpeen hammer, no points kit).

a buddy has one like KCsmithson's and its a heavy canvas...his looks it as well...probably an inbetween one from the more comprehensive kits of earlyer and the later vinyl that was in you 71

Johnny, was it one of your illustrations that listed the contents of the very early smaller metal toolbox?

I know I saw it in the 25 section somewhere and I can't seem to find it. I've been searching and reading for a while now.

thanks,

-Sean

Any chance it is earlier than the early ones? When I bought it, I was told it was from the 50's. Maybe not from a Cruiser. It is extremely heavy, thick canvas.

i posted a box like that before...but...not the contents..i believe MOT had one with stuff in it...maybe PM him...i kinda recall it not being a typical tool kit...more like a specialty service tool box

that is nice BTW :)

thanks,

I thought I was sure someone posted up some contents of one of these. oh well, maybe it will show up again one of these days.

PM sent back on something else
