Thanks but i can't take credit for the actual sheetmetal, the bloke who converted my 22 seat bus to 4wd knocked it up, I just did the rest.

OK hold it right there, WTF:D "my 22 seat bus to 4WD" where are the pictures!

Nice job by the way:)

Here is the nicest looking chopped 105 series I have seen including the rainbow large flakes in the paint (if you look hard enough)

That was one tidy 80. Seemed a shame to cut the back off. Conversion looks though.
What were you using the Bus for?. Would make a good camper with the seats pulled out.

Yeah it's in pretty good nick for the Km.
I built the bus to make into a motorhome but ran out of money. If you visit cradle Mountain in Tassie on a tour you may get a ride in it after next week when it goes to it's new home.

Nice work thus far. What do you think is harder.... cutting the back end off to do what your doing, or cutting the top off to do a pop up?

Thanks for sharing and keep the updates coming, it's great to see.

It would be easier to just cut into the roof for a pop top and easier to re weld in the gutters if you wanted to put the roof back on.
But a pop top won't let you leave the camper unit and higher COG at camp while you go wheeling.

Well, I picked up a second hand single cab tray and cut it to size. Then after it was modded to suit, painted and reinstalled.

Only the drawers, rack and long range tank to go (these will take a while)

i agreee.. . i love this

I want to know about the '28 or '29 Model A Roadster or phaeton that you're towing! Model A's were my first love.
Nice job on the 80. Ned

Here is a pic of the camper and the basic frame to hold it up. In the pics the frame isn't braced and the storage has to be built into the bottom section but you get the idea.

Now that is camping in luxury!

Ok, the box is pretty close to finished with lift up side doors and a drop down rear door for a table.
The spare has been relocated to the roof between the camper and box and is bolted to the box frame which has been strengthened for it.
The Long ranger sub tank (166 lt) is fitted giving me a total of 261 litres and a safe highway range of around 1700km. (did Sydney to Bundaberg a 20hr drive and had 3/4 of the 95lt tank left)

SWMBO wants more and more stuff in the truck so I may have to put the camper top on a trailer or break the cruisers back on the badly corrogated roads in the Kimberley...mmmm another project.
