Sunbathing Millie

About a month ago this little guy showed up at our remote house. Our house is 1/4 mile from main gate and nearest neighbor is a mile away. He weighed 36 pounds and we immediately started calling him “buddy”. We guessed that he was maybe 3-6 months old.

Hate to see anything suffer and this little guy was malnourished. Tried having him neutered along with testing for heart worms and treating the worms he apparently had been infected with. Unfortunately he was too anemic to have nuts removed. After buying dog house and little bed he would spend the hottest portion of the days under the trailer we live in. Loves to play with the other dogs

Fast forward a month “buddy” weighs 51 pounds and has been the most lovable loyal dog. Still not needing another dog one of the painters noticed him with me a couple weeks ago and he goes to his new home tomorrow where he will have a Great Dane to play with. Young guy who proposed to his girlfriend last week so no kids so I’m sure he will get plenty of attention.

Today he got fixed. We also had his cherry eye repaired and all his vaccines. Told new owner it was his first wedding present and we didn’t want any money for him. Sadly many of these dogs just get put down when they show up at the neighbors farms, glad he showed up at ours!

Gonna miss the little guy!

My helpers when we had 3x dogs... We took pups off our Bitch (Skye) and one boomeranged back after their housing changed. He stayed with us for about 4 months before he went off to another friend who has our bitches full sister.

The top picture is the 2 boys in the car, as soon as the back is open any of them are trying to get in. Billy (nearest the camera) is our lad and he'll clear the bottom tailgate to get in... but won't get out if it's up.

Here's Skye checking on Billy as he's thinking about getting in the 80.

She's a 7 year old Kelpie X collie, and Billy is a bit more Kelpie (his Sire was a full Kelpie we borrowerd from a neighbour) and is coming up to 18 months old.

Decided to take Charley, by himself, to tractor supply and Lowe's for some human interaction training.

The training went well, but the taking by himself was an utter failure. Lela is much quicker than either of us and somehow managed to get in the 40 along with him. Oh well. I can drive three on the tree with two dogs on my lap anyway.
