Would love to freeze time on some of these early fall days….

I think my daughter and son-in-laws new dog is making sure their order is correct at the drive through. 😁

Faith (pointing griffon) with an NDN taco at a friend's lunch truck. Backseat of the "Blue Beast" 4Runner. She cleaned her plate (and part of mine), the backseat and the floor!

Faith took off chasing a squirrel and got hit as she ran into the street. FORTUNATELY, just skinned up! Antibiotics and muscle relaxers. Obviously sore but able to get around. THANK THE LORD!!!!

Glad she's alright!

I am getting ready to take Charley, our new rescue out camping at the Southern Swine Soiree at the Land Between the Lakes. He is a new camper, so set up the tent in the back yard with his big sister, Lela, who is a veteran camper.

Turns out he is a natural, but has issues sharing the bed.

Lela, OTOH is NOT a morning dog.

Charley is rapidly building space in our hearts. He is, however, a real Houndini. He has a tendency to escape and go looking for kids to play with. The kids, of course, run from the mean looking pit bull, but the first kid to stop and confront him gets puppy kisses and demand for tummy rubs. I'm guessing he came from a family with kids, and misses them.

About Charley. His prior owner decided to re-home him by tying him to a tree in a farmers back woods with a short chain. By the time the farmer found him, he was emaciated and his front legs no longer worked due to loss of circulation caused by being wrapped in the chain.

The local rescue fattened him up too much, so a bit over a month ago we got a crippled, obese dog. He was so full of love and joy, though. He has rapidly improved with exercise, therapy and through playing with our other dog.

He walked with his front legs stiff in front of him but gradually he has learned to bend them again. Last week, his shoulders started moving again and today he was able to stretch for the first time.

We are so happy to see him improving. Now to fix that escape artist thing....

Thinking, "what a handsome fella"

I think he was actually watching me in the window. He has a weird fascination with shadows, reflections and all that.

Cheers

Despite the look on Dexter's face in the first pic, he loves cruising PCH with us in the '63 Falcon. It was just the two of us for this trip, so he got the front seat.

I want a mid-60s Falcon or Comet sooo badly. My dad had a light blue ‘64 Falcon. In fact, he taught me how to drive a car with a manual transmission in that car when I was 11 years old. I’m 66 now and I still remember the license plate number on that Falcon.

I’ve always been a Galaxie guy and after selling our van, I wanted to get another one. The wife said she’d like something she felt more comfortable driving, so I figured the smaller brother of the Galaxie would be just fine. We looked at Fairlanes, Falcons, and Comets. We found this car locally for a decent deal and pulled the trigger.

The little mutt. We might add a second terrier after we come back from vacation in December.

That’s sooo cool!!! I love the Galaxies of that era, too.
