Need some help figuring out what to do next.

FJ40 with 11/78 build date. Installing a Dobinsons full IMS kit. Passenger rear went together great. Driver side rear is presenting a challenge. The spring hanger pin flange screw holes do not line up with hanger bracket. I tried the 3 remaining pins and they are all drilled the the same, so I'm assuming it's the bracket that is drilled & tapped wrong? Am I missing something obvious? I'm about ready to drill out the hole on the pin flange to match the bracket but that will leave scant room between the edge of the screw hole and the edge of the flange.

Not sure why this bracket is different, but hopefully one of you have run into this and can advise a good solution that does not require cutting & welding a new bracket.

thanks.

All that looks like is necessary is to rotate it so the holes line up.

X2, rotate counter clockwise, see the mark on bracket where previous pin lined up. Its close but I bet you can get them both started, if not, running without 1 of those isnt the end of the world, or an issue at all IMO.

It looks like rotating will work but it does not line up enough to get both screws in. Almost ruined one of the screws trying that.

Screw in bolt on the left lightly, tap the bracket down to expose as much of the hole on the right side. Use a Sharpie to mark the bracket where to cut out so the bolt hole location will line up. Remove the bracket, use a Dremel tool or chainsaw file to remove metal to your line - Install with both bolts.

thinking similar process but was going to use drill press. I like the chainsaw file idea. Take it slow and controlled. thanks

I had the exact same problem. They are not made correctly. I used other pins instead and sent these back.
