appreciate the idea. when i click and hold on the panel and have the option to configure, it opens but i cant navigate to the same PID. it's almost like it isnt there. was there something i needed to do after buying the add-on?

im trying to get this set up for a drive cross country back to AZ. I want to monitor temps before i out in the transcooler. think @Acrad was looking for some data. then i can compare temps once i get to the desert and steep grades.

started over. uninstalled/reinstalled. cant even get the layouts imported now.

When you go into "Settings -> Purchase Extras" does it show the package that you bought with a checkmark? There should be a long list of options, most with prices and then whichever you purchased with a blue checkmark.

Once that is verified, then under the "Vehicle Editor" you have to select which network you want to connect to. I believe the default may be to only connect to "Generic OBD2". For the main trip dashboard you need an enhanced network. On my 2010 LX, the network is called "Network A". This is where all the transmission temps are. You want to switch where it says "Generic OBD2" to "Network A". You can also switch it to "Prompt" and it will ask you which network you want every time you connect to the vehicle. (As a side note, in my app, it mentions that "Network A" includes all the features from "Generic OBD2")

If those 2 things are working, then the PIDs should be available. They definitely wouldn't be if you are only connected to "Generic OBD2".

Thanks 2HundyJTex. I’ve tried all that up in post #55. I have not tried DropBox. I’ll probably try that. But what year of Toyota’s “enhanced diagnostics” have you purchased? I purchased “Toyota 2018 Enhanced Diagnostics” and “Toyota 1996-2021 Enhanced Diagnostics.” Could it be that you have to have the same year as the person sharing the dashboard?
I have this:

I don’t think the dashboards are dependent on having the same year; I adapted mine from others with a different year.

I’m starting to think there’s a phone-related access permission issue having something to do with the file location, but I don’t know how to advise you to fix it.

The dials are in layers. They are actually full circles (or squares). You can only edit the one that’s “on top” - so you need to send the top one to the back, so you can edit the one underneath. It’s a pain.

Thanks. This morning, just laying here (not connected), i turned on Simple Dashboard Management and attempted to reimport the layouts and it worked. So that's hopefully resolved.

Yes, it shows my purchase of the '21 Toyota add-on. I also hit the restore button just in case.

Ill give that network setting a try and report back.

Much appreciated!

ok. odd. could have sworn id seen those network settings options before. perhaps it needs to be connected to have the options appear? but definitely not seeing them in the vehicle editor.

fyi, for anyone w a '22 or '23, if you select '21 as your MY, it will allow you to select GX460 in the next step. However, if you choose a newer MY, youll have to write in your model.

found the network settings! note, if you select '22 or '23 as your MY, the network settings will NOT display or be accessible. progress!

mine said "prompt" by default. dont recall it ever prompting me though. i changed it to default obd2 because it says that includes network A. will report back.

YES! WORKING! Data didnt start streaming until this process initiated (screen shot1). Must have been due to the default network setting being 'prompt.'

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU TO ALL WHO CHIMED IN!

on another note, i noticed my trips are being logged (screen shot). how would i disable the trips? not really big on that.

Does the Trip Dashboard layout (post 1) include the lockup indication (colored ring around the gear)? i see it in the other layout that was shared here (TeCKis300) and really like the idea.

Last, anyone know if it's possible to calibrate Altitude? im at the beach but apparently 62 ft below sea level. lol

Congrats,

There are settings to turn off all the logging. Not exactly sure where everything is, but it's in there. Altitude is coming from your phone and not the vehicle. So I'd look at that.

newbies: go to Settings/Preferences/Logging. Mine was set to automatic. i changed it to manual so i can log when i choose.

Has any of you tried to use Fusion on the diesel version ? I am configuring mine but it tells me that the add-on does not apply to that model
I'm using Fusion w/ Veepeak BLE+ on my VDJ79, so it works. However, the additional features aren't available for my vehicle. In fact, I had to use my vin and essentially add my cruiser into Fusion as it didn't have it listed. The standard functions all work though. I'll try things on my VDJ200, also a manual, but don't expect any change for that cruiser either.

Try these older posts starting about #55 if you haven’t already. I remember having to fiddle with it for a while - trial and error style. The menus and controls in the app are not logical.

Even though I have my OBD Fusion folder in ICloud, the Settings > Menu > Import Settings is set to “File System” (checked). Makes no sense to me but it works. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Maybe @lx200inAR can lend a hand. I mod’d his dashboard for 2018 and his posts were very useful when I set mine up a couple years ago.
I finally got your dashboards to import. Thanks 2HundyJTex!

just had a situation where fusion told me the layout imported successfully. i had Use Simple Dashboard Management selected. but the layout wasnt visible. i unchecked Use Simple Dashboard Management, rechecked it and attempted the import again. et voila! the layout imported. hope that helps someone.

I would be actually very curious of the result in terms of network availability, as you have the same OBD BT adapter as me, and I cannot find Network D at all on my 200.

Question on OBD Fusion: does the device (phone or table) you're using need an Internet connection for Fusion to work? Getting ready to head out on a roadtrip, would like to have this along for the ride, but on my Samsung S7+ tablet, but it's WiFi only, no 5G.

I have Carista and Foseal dongles, but I'm pretty sure the Carista app wants Internet to fully function.
