Right. It’s a bit confusing with two sets of 1-5 numbers. If you orient them where they are on the vehicle now, I think they’ll be in the “wrong” place after the next time you rotate the tires.
I assumed they would reorient when I rotate tires like the tire pressure does on the native display. We shall see in a couple weeks I guess.

In the meantime, I don’t think I have the orientation correct so I made a new screen with all tire psi and temp and I’ll try to decipher which is which and adjust accordingly.

So. It looks like your assumption is correct. Had the tires rotated, and all the IDs are in the same <edit> spot they were before. I may have time in the next week or so to fiddle around more. This snapshot crudely adds the Registered ID 1 Code. Wondering if that’s the TPMS ID… maybe a Mudder with more knowledge on this can weigh in?

Was looking at the OBD Fusion after reading through the thread. Kept seeing the Toyota Enhancement pack noted as $10. When I go to their site it shows this pack at $85:

Am I missing something or has there been a huge price increase? Puts the Fusion on par price wise with the OBDlink tool since it comes with the free enhancement packs. $10 app, $40 Bluetooth reader, $85 pids = $135.

I like that fusion has CarPlay, but honestly not sure I would use that much at all. Any other benefits to Fusion over OBDlink or vice versa.

I may be wrong, but I believe you are looking at the Toyota "master" set that does all models, all years. I seem to remember you can get the pack for just your intended year for $10. I think I bought it in the app.

Ah ok, don’t see anything else in their site. Maybe it’s just shown in the app, don’t want to buy it just to find out.

Correct $74.99 for “all” (really 1996-2021) but an individual year is $14.99 thru the app.

Press the “car” in the lower left corner in the main screen (Vehicle Editor), then scroll down in that screen. There’s a blue link to Enhanced… where you choose the vehicle.

(That’s for my RX, and I didn’t buy enhanced … yet?)

After you purchase, it looks like this:

I have read the entire thread and see that there are a handful of 8 speed transmission folks with erroneous transmission readings. I am experiencing the same and am wondering if anyone found the fix. I have a 2021, downloaded the appropriate PID pack and the transmission temps are off. I’ve towed many of miles with my previous 2015 and knew what temps should be.
As previously mentioned, the TC TEMP starts at -20 degrees, not ambient. The pan temp seems to stay between 130 and 150 degrees at operating temp. I would think it would hover around the coolant temp as my 2015 did.
Is there a fix to this? Could the sensors be bad on the truck? Others seem to be seeing the same, what was the fix?

Thanks for passing on. Here's a screenshot of Torque on my V8 Touareg, RIP..

I’m having the same problem here. 2016 LC200 with the 8-speed transmission, temps appear to be way off. Pan temp stayed around 120F on a quick drive around town but the other sensor, I’m assuming torque converter, started at -18F and never got above 45F. Any thoughts?

No known fix so far. I’ve given up on it.

In the same boat here on my 2018. I'm trying to get ready to do a transmission fluid exchange as well and don't know the best way to get the correct temperature reading to do the fluid level check. I know you can do the shift lever sequence like in the FSM to get the dash to indicate when the fluid is the right temp to check but I presume it uses the same sensor readings to determine the correct temp. Or maybe the internal electronics are properly converting the raw signal and its an app problem causing the way off temp readings. No idea.

Sorry for the stupid question, but aren't there analyzers out there that will tell you the temp. I recently did a TC and tranny service on the wife's P Macan using PIWIS that kept me posted every second of 90 minutes while I waited for it to get up the normal temp (ask me why you should only do this in warm months). Is there a Toyota or Autel or... that will tell you?

Yes. I did a trans fluid change awhile back on my 2018. I was able to get temp readings with Techstream and Fusion. Can also use a thermal gun on the pan which is easy. Use the reading A/T Oil Temperature 1 and not 3.

Here is a writeup I did back in July 2024 when I changed my transmission fluid. You can see A/T Oil Temp 3 is also reading low value in Techstream and Fusion.

Same here, I just need to read the trans temp to do a fluid change. I’m going to use a combination of the A/T temp 1 through OBD Fusion and a thermal heat gun on the pan to get in range of the right temp to check the fluid. I did the trans fluid on my 4Runner just using the thermal gun on the pan without any issues, but hopefully using both helps me get a more accurate reading.

Sorry for my ignorance, but are there baffles in the AT the reason you have different temps?

The A/T temp 1 is from the sensor in the transmission pan and the A/T temp 3 is from the sensor at the torque converter.
Thanks for this. I changed my inputs and will check on the next roadtrip. Just added Transfer case instead of A/T Temp 3.
Curious… How did you know this? I’ve had no luck finding any manual or guide. Lots of hunting, trial, and error.
