There's some specialized tools (and tools costs) involved with this operation including press, bearing plate, seal pullers, dial indicator, seal and bearing press dies, resourcefulness. Contracting out the carrier assembly may not be a bad idea and the carriers can be dropped in with relative ease in a weekend and no specialized tools.
