[If someone with the 03-07 LC or 98-07 lx could post a pic at a similar angle for comparison that would be great

It's actually my shop. I run an auto body shop here in Atlanta. There is no trimming involved. I however mounted a winch. That required me to notch the filler pice you are referring to. It's actually called a upper bumper reinforcement. I don't know how others did it but I couldn't get the winch in without notching it. When you put the grill back on, you can't really see it.
Thanks for the reply - and the resulting conversation gives a bit more context to what I was referring to. All very helpful!

Thanks guys - all good stuff here! Very helpful for me to see.

Mine doesn't look that flush. Did you remove the retainer part we're talking about.

It does look like a very flush fit - honestly, thats why I asked in the first place. I kind of assumed that the lip had been cut in order to give such a snug fit. @r71 Can you post a similar picture?

Couple more showing spacing
(pics look a bit washed out - I bumped up the exposure; reduced shadows... to show gaps/spacing)

so @Manhattan did you trim the 'lip' under the grill? I just got off the phone with @benc and will be doing this method. i like the cleaner look of the 'older' version of the bumper that is slid under the grill versus the '03-'07 version where the bumper is notched out. now the anticipation can begin...

The install looks tight - very nice. The fit you were able to get almost makes the trim unnecessary.

FINALLY getting the bumper on. Had things sitting in the garage for a while waiting to send off to powder coat but things are rollin' again.

Am I the only one noticing my wiper fluid sticking out? Have you guys relocated yours?

I mean, I can definitely do that and I plan to hit some other spots. But for the most part, everything else is tucked up there pretty good and then this thing just sticks right out.

You can remove the plastic cover and tuck the wires up, then paint it black. It will almost disappear! The cover is what is hanging down.

Ahhh, ok. That was my plan if you guys weren't doing some kind of relocation. I'll stick with that!

I just sprayed the whole thing black! Didn't remove anything.

The cover doesn't have to be removed but it looks much better with it gone!
I think there are 3-4 bolts and it will pop off. You will also notice how much of a mud trap it is if you were to remove it.

I can't wait until my bumper is made. Freaking deer blew up the front end of the wife's two week old minivan...don't want the same damage done to my cruiser. Lol

Ha! Two weeks after putting on the new bumper, a deer darted in front of the 100 doing about 65... my first thought was "NOT THE NEW BUMPER".
