Thanks for the reply - and the resulting conversation gives a bit more context to what I was referring to. All very helpful!It's actually my shop. I run an auto body shop here in Atlanta. There is no trimming involved. I however mounted a winch. That required me to notch the filler pice you are referring to. It's actually called a upper bumper reinforcement. I don't know how others did it but I couldn't get the winch in without notching it. When you put the grill back on, you can't really see it.
Mine doesn't look that flush. Did you remove the retainer part we're talking about.
so @Manhattan did you trim the 'lip' under the grill?.
You can remove the plastic cover and tuck the wires up, then paint it black. It will almost disappear! The cover is what is hanging down.FINALLY getting the bumper on. Had things sitting in the garage for a while waiting to send off to powder coat but things are rollin' again.
Am I the only one noticing my wiper fluid sticking out? Have you guys relocated yours?

The cover doesn't have to be removed but it looks much better with it gone!I just sprayed the whole thing black! Didn't remove anything.
