Ha! Two weeks after putting on the new bumper, a deer darted in front of the 100 doing about 65... my first thought was "NOT THE NEW BUMPER".
Do you have "after" pics?

I will decide on particulars and then need to know how you want me to proceed, deposit, shipping info, etc. Really like your design and quality.

Bumper arrived attached to a pallet and was damage free. Spent the morning in the shop. Unpacked everything and laid out. Instructions were almost unnecessary. Everything went together smoothly. Just removed it so it can take a ride to the body shop to get the factory metallic grey the OEM bumper was painted. Flush mounted 3x3" lights came in separate shipment.

I can't say enough about the quality of this bumper, both in design and construction. I have an Expedition One bumper on my FJC and I was impressed with it, but this bumper is amazing. I was going for an ARB Sahara bar until I saw this bumper. I am very glad I waited. I will post some more pictures after paint and reassembly.

Thanks for building me a bumper worthy of my LC.

Bump, for all the new guys looking at bumper options.
Feel free to pm me with any questions.

for anyone on the fence, Ben's service and communication is top notch. mine is at powder coat today, and hopefully will be on by next week.

Hopefully thats sarcasm? If not then pump the brakes buddy.

Thanks for your thoughts. Are you being a little sensitive?

Im the least sensitive guy on this forum.

But I am from the south. And have lots of friends and family in Arkansas. So I'd prefer if you would spare us your condescending / judgmental posts. Why didn't you say Colorado? Or Maine? Lots of deer in both those states.

And now I see you edited your post to cover yourself.

I refuse to argue with anyone on this site as it would not serve to promote the Land Cruiser and it's owners. Nothing to gain. Sorry you took it personal.

If I was attacking you there would be little question regarding my intentions.

Suggest you relax and let it go as I have.

@benc is this Lincoln 140 sufficient for welding my bumper kit? POWER MIG® 140C MIG Welder - K2471-2

Or do I really need to spend the extra and get something more like this Lincoln 210MP? http://www.lincolnelectric.com/en-us/Equipment/Pages/product.aspx?product=K3963-1(LincolnElectric)

I don't have a 230V outlet available in my garage and the cost of adding that plus a bigger welder would probably push me out of my budget completely.

I have a decent amount of experience TIG welding stainless from when I worked in the food processing maintenance field, but I haven't run a MIG welder in about 15 years and that was just in a basic "shop" class in high school.

Well I just looked at the full specs and realized both of those only offer 140A running from the 110 input so the added cost of the larger welder wouldn't help me any at all :bang:. Follow up question would be is that 140A sufficient for the welds on the 10g plate to be stout enough?

The 140 should weld the 10ga fine, I believe the specs for a 140 amp is up to 1/4". There are a couple 1/4" plates that will need welded on the brackets but you should be fine. You don't have a dryer plug do you?

Unless you just want the satisfaction from welding it yourself- have Ben weld it. After laying out that steel puzzle in order and mating parts, it's actually a fair bit of welding, not difficult but kind of tedious especially with out jigs to hold everything in place, which Ben has in his shop. I have a lot of appreciation for how quickly he can get them welded up.

Part of it is that I've already ordered the kit. Part is that I like the satisfaction and challenge of doing it myself. And the final part is I have been wanting a welder for a while and this is the perfect justification of buying one. What I saved on the front bumper and will save on the rear kit will be more than enough to pay for the welder.

Haha, if I would have welded it you would of had bolted up already:)

I'm not sure about Lincoln machines but have a look at the dual voltage welders! I know Miller has one for sure. Then you have something to use now on the bumper and the ability to weld bigger stuff later whenever you can afford to add the big plug in the garage! Dryer plug isn't the best.
I welded my whole bumper with a Miller 140.
