A big thanks to Tim from gamiviti @nakman making this happen!
He wanted bumpers for his gx470 so he bought me one for r&d. I picked up a clean 1 owner trade in with service records yesterday and will have it for about six months for r&d. Hoping to get front rear bumpers, sliders , skid plates and roof rack developed in that time.
Stay tuned for progress!

Dang, I think I might be more jealous at how clean your shop is, but the clean slate is pretty awesome too.

Will keep an eye on this one.

doing something similar with a bad ass fab shop here in Chandler AZ. Gave them a 2003 GX470 I just snagged. Probably sell the 120 and roll the $ over to my 80 Series. Front and rear bumpers, and sliders. That is it, because to then spend the $ for suspension and tires may make it tougher to get my $ back. Or do think a lifted and armored 120 would do better on the market? If I were to keep it I'd "need" SAS and 3X locked, to keep with the wheeling I do with my 80.

Looks good! Can't wait to see the progress.

Do you have an idea of what type of Bumpers you are thinking of doing? I would like to see a cheaper option on the market. One that allows you to do a hidden winch behind the stock bumper and cut the bottom part of the bumper anb have a tube with light tabs.
Similar to what companies do for the Raptors by removing the bottom half of the bumper but keeping the top that flows into the headlights and fender.

That is the plan as of now, similar to what I have done with my Tacoma bumper.

You have my attention. Interested to see what you come up with.

This is awesome! I'm interested in what you are going to do with when you are finished!? My wife is wanting GX bad ;)

I like the clean, industrial and minimalist aesthetic of your Tacoma front bumper, I hope that continues with the GX! My main complaint with the front bumpers I've seen for the GX so far is that they have looked too big or pronounced, like a bulldog with an underbite :)

 This is exciting. Another great platform that us mere mortals can , in some cases, actually afford..

Ben,

Looks like you went with the AP12000X. Support has been great with mine, Arc Max . Two things you may find out.

1) Make sure your post processor is the latest REV. IIRC it needs to be 24 6.1.50. If not the hub will dive or fade during cuts. Mine was fine for about 4 weeks and then it started acting up.

2) The tool parameters are not correct for a majority in SheetCam. Preset volts, feedrates and delays are not set properly. I have the latest and greatest parameter sheets for the Hypertherm 65-85-105. Email me and I'll send them to you if you don't have them or your tool sets are incorrect. It's pretty easy to tell. Makes a world of difference on the cut quality.

Also a homemade quench recipe. Much cheaper than the 5 gallon jugs they sell and 100% biodegradable. You can get it all on Amazon.

Plasma Quench

1/4 pound of sodium nitrite powder
1 teaspoon of Physan 20
1 oz Ultramarine blue or green or red food-grade dye

Mix well, treats 75 gallons of water.

Thanks Jason!
I did, picked it up last Monday.
I actually wanted to stop by your new shop in Redding on the way home but it was late when we were driving through.
So far I have found that about 70% of the feed rate on the thicker stuff has had good results. I still need to find the best lead in lead out combo for the hole quality though. Already put about 15 bumpers through it so far and this is definitely going to be a money saver!
I'm definitely grateful for any advice you may have to offer!
I'll get you an email.
Thanks!
