@cruzerDave I ended up doing something subtle. Evo Grey for the wings and Center was BLK1.

So update to the spare tire angle...

I installed this 1” OD, 1 3/4” 18-8 spacer and it made a word of difference. I didn’t even bother sliding it up the forward “adjustment” bolt, I just put it on the stationary bolt. After I torqued down the nut, the square tube deformed a bit (as it had previously) and everything tightened up fantastically.

This thing ain’t moving or rubbing. Exactly what I was looking for.

I’m finally getting to electrical (yea delayed because life happens). Question though, where do you hide the wires for the license plate light? I don’t see a way into the hollow part of the bumper to run wires.

wo that grey looks great on your truck!

I stuck with monotone, used the same rubbed bronze as my sliders and blends well with the vinyl (looks closer IRL than in the pics)

Need to splice in the backup lights, not tackling trailer wiring yet so have folks had success with drawing from the backup light circuit without blowing the fuse? I'm running LEDs in the backups that I *think* were about same as stock incandescent (been a while so can't recall off the top of my head). What do folks do, splice or relay/power separate?

Was this your solution so the tire stopped falling/sagging down?

I swear I torque the sh*t out of those bolts, but my tire always ends up sagging down and resting the on swing arm tire carrier (whatever you want to call it)... AKA it ends up vertical.

Edit: Sorry, went back a page and read your posts. Glad to see I'm not the only one. I'm surprised Ben designed it for the tire to touch. Not that it's the end of the world, but it's rubbing away my powder coat.

Made a wire harness for the license plate and backup lights. No connectors for lights, was lazy to stop and do shopping.

Is that the aluminum version?
This isn’t my truck but you’re right, that’s aluminum. I clearly remember it when he posted pics of his install way back. Notice the missing recovery points.

Important!!! For the aluminum bumpers please refer to page 11 prior to installation.

Alright guys, I’m going to attempt some instructions for the new rear bumper.
These will be added to as I install more accessories. Hopefully these will get you guys by until I can get some proper instructions.
I apologize for the grammar errors in advance!

#1
Remove existing bumper, clean off any excess welding spatter from the frame, check and clean threads as needed.

#2
Drill out holes on each side of frame to fit a 1/2” bolt. (Note that this is not required on some of the early versions of the bumpers.) mark the frame as seen in the pic.
There is a hole on the inside of the frame that will need enlarged so that a through bolt can be installed. View attachment 1941227

Once the frame is drilled and clean it is recommended to put a fresh coat of paint on the frame. At this time you will also need to cut the lower pinch weld seam at about a 45° angle as marked out in the pic below. This is the corner at the wheel arch. Once cut make sure to touch up the paint on the fresh cut.

#3
Now you will install the wing stiffener plate loosely to the frame.
If you do not have the stiffener that looks like this you will skip this step for now.

#4
Using masking tape, tape on one of the 1/4” hitch spacers to the frame.
(Note, on some 03 and up models equipped with the integrated towing cross member these spacers will not be used. View attachment 1941230

Now install the wings into place and loosely install the 3 lower m14 bolts.
(If swing out are being installed you will want to install the ball studs into the bumper before hand)View attachment 1941231

can someone tell me what the ball studs look like, that are to be pre-installed for the swing outs?

Another question for you guys, regarding Step #2 of the instructions.

When drilling the 1/2" holes into the frame, how did you line it up in order to be straight with the pre-existing hole?

If I remember right I just poked through the open hole with a drill bit that would reach. You don't have to be perfect on that.

Related: are there printed instructions for this bumper? If so, can I get a digital copy?

Reason: I am looking @ hiring my local wrencher to install. He can't give me a install quote w/o official instructions.

Thanks in advance!

Not that I have seen but someone posted a video how to in the forum.

Yeah, saw the video. Issue is that the video series (4 vids) is loooong (2+ hours). I suspect my guy would pass on this due to the review time, thus the original request.

I'd do it myself but have looming medical issues. Plus a few of the steps need 2 people (can't ask the wife).

Drive up to Ben to get it installed?

Everything realistically can be installed solo. If you are not capable of lifting heavy objects, then two people will be required.

I actually was thinking about that as an option. Would make a nice road trip!
I reached out to him couple of weeks ago regarding installation service and he isn't accepting any at the moment.
