I was wondering if any of y'all have tried using stock or lift springs out of another make or model vehicle as cheaper option? I just didn't know if this was possible. Any input would be nice. Thanks!

I've used 80 springs to lift a 4runner, but I don't think it works the other way around, unless you want to lower your rig :o

Get some f250 coils and report back :D

I don't think so. Never heard of anything and that's usually the kind of thing that catches my attention. 80's have relatively long coil springs to begin with, which is not a common configuration. Then factor in the very few coil sprung solid axle trucks on the market, and you'd pretty much have to start at a 3/4 ton ford or dodge. No idea if the spring diameter or spring rates are even remotely close, but I'm guessing even if they fit, that would be way too much spring for an 80.

Maybe just go to the junkyard with your measuring tape and look around?

how much cost cutting is too much?
ton of lower cost options out there made for our vehicles, why venture into the unknown and untested. the beauty of an 80 is the reliability, not worth frankensteining it too much imo.
