Can be, I did it with some custom bends, aircraft rivets and panel adhesive. It was scary at first but only for the first one.
I also used a gozzard cap but it needs clearance for the wiper arms.
You got any pics? Oops, I just saw your other post.

Did he make sets of those or was it a one time thing?

I had some sets made for forum members at one time. The guy that made them for me no longer works at the shop though. It took over a year to get the last run made even then. No plans at this time to request more made, I could but I am not sure I could get the same deal I did before.

No worries.

Looking forward to seeing the pre 79 parts showing up. I can use a rear sill and doors or door repair parts.

Wistfully eyeing the 79-84 Complete Cab FJ40....but I have a '73. Is the list of differences significant? Would it prevent mounting, or simply require different lights/dash instruments etc.? I'm just trying to make myself a nice rig of this Venezuelan 40 I brought in, not trying to preserve a piece of history here.

You would be much better off waiting for their 72-78 setup. half of the body mounts are different on the +79, and overall parts availability is a lot better 72-78 IMO

Thank you for this.
Are you developing an early body that might be available some time soon?

Yes and based on schedule we should ship the first tub by the end of this month. You can find the pre-order links on whole tub, 3/4 tub and 1/2 tub from our webstore: tpautoparts.com.

Thats fantastic! Do you plan to do a "Complete Cab" kit as well? That is the route I'd want to go...I need everything.

Sorry that we already decided not to offer the complete cab option in the future, due to many factors. The only one cab we have in stock is one 79-84 complete cab, We do however have all the necessary pieces that you can order and piece them together.

We have an update on the progress of the FJ40 3-piece barn doors. We are making steady progress, and there are just a few small pieces left to be installed before we move on to the final stage—the e-coating process. The front half doors are in a similar phase. Stay tuned for further updates. We appreciate your patience and continued interest in our work. As we near completion, we will soon make them available for pre-order. Thank you!

Outstanding!

We have more progress now on the FJ40 3-piece tailgate. After laser cut, assembled with tooling, spot-welded and then e-coated, it is a fine piece now! Price will be anounced on tpautoparts.com next week.

I was asked a few times last week if individual pieces or section of parts can be ordered. My answer is yes. You probably have to pre-order them though.
