Make sure you use the star washer to dig into the frame. You will be chasing bad grounds and trying to figure out why stuff doesn't work or works intermittently if you don't get through that paint if it's thick.

Cool thanks man.
I have one star washer, can pic up another if needed :D
i definitely do not want any grounding gremlins :)

Thanks man!

Mine definitely look like they are brass. I think the early are brass and the later (on my 76) is steel. I don't know when they changed.

I would keep you clear line. If it's not leaking that line it almost bulletproof. This is a resto right?

You have the time... get some brass line and make yourself one. Making the bends would be easy.

Ahhh

Wel i DO have copper tubing like that in my extra parts bin.
However teh contour and bends do not seem to make sense from the filter to the carb :hhmm:

I managed to get the clear lines to work, i just cut off an inch of old line and it was fine :)

Do you have a photo that shows the bends of your copper fuel line from the pump to the carb?

Curious to see how it is set up, maybe i can get the old copper lines to work !

copper... that's what i meant :jeez im gettin old:

I'll get you a pic.

sweet

i see if my copper piping matches that, heading to the shop in a bit :)

also original motor color?

mine looks orange...

thinking about degreasing it more then taping bits off and painting it :)

Mine are copper on the early cruisers. I think the early are brass and the later (on my 76) is steel. I don't know when they changed.

I don't know when the change was either. I have both styles in the early one barrel carburator fuel lines. The early copper one is on a FJ25, The two carbon based steel ones I have were picked up used over the years from junk yards. So it started copper and switched to steel before changing to the two barrel carburator in 3/69.

they are only $33 used from SOR if you can't make one

I believe the engine was black. Hopefully i'll drop of my valve cover this week for PC then I can put shane's repro stickers on. :D

nice :)

yeah i need to do that too :)

ok off to degrease the motor a bit.
i will take a few shots of my copper line, and if it does not fit i will order a used one from sor :)

pics coming later this evening :D

The cool think about copper (and brass) is that it's easy to restore. Some 0000 steel wool to take the tarnish off. Then some Brasso and a shop towel. Follow it up with a light coat of clear Rustoleum or Krylon and it'll be shiny for years...

degreased the motor :D
