treerootCO,

With respect to the Heater/HVAC controls, you list

(3)Type B - green REPLACED WITH-autolumination - Neowedge Item # Single Led Type B Blue 2.99

and the rest are 3mm LEDs REPLACED WITH superbrightleds - RL3-B2030 Blue or RL3-R5030 Red 3mm LED's.

Where are the 3 Type B's being utilized? I can't tell from your picture (3rd picture down in post #8) where 3 type B's would be used. It appears that one is located directly above the sliding temperature lever, but I don't see any others.

Also, does each push button use 2 LEDs - one LED for the symbol in the bottom half of the button and another LED for the clear rectangular indicator at the top of each button which is only lit when that button is depressed (with exception of the OFF button which does not have an indicator on the top half)?

Many thanks for your efforts on this.

There are three B type bulbs that light the symbols. All others are soldered into the circuit board. These are the LEDs that light up above the symbols when you press the buttons.

The 3 B type bulbs can be seen in this pic as the three brown 'X's.

I think I found the bulbs for the dash. These are non polar, makes it way easier to get right, and the right color. Some of the bulbs I have been buying are too blue, almost purple. These are the blue I like. The only problem is that they are about 1/8" too long. I took a carbide deburring tool in an air grinder and shortened the reflectors a little to make them fit.

This is the LED:

Thank for explaining. That's exactly what I needed.

treerootCO,

When you say 'lights for the dash' do you mean the heater control insert or the large dash cluster ? Also, what i the exact part number of these from autolumination ?

The 'dash' lights are the 4 main ones the light up the cluster. This doesn't include the P, R, D lights, the turn indicators, or the warning lights. The main bulbs for the cluster are 194 type bulbs. If you go to the autolumination page, they don't list part numbers. The description is:

I would send all my switches for the switch! Im just not that electrically inclined. Would love to change all my lights to led.

How did you get your switch relabels to look so nice with the light on? Mine throws light all in the [ ] area.

How many Land Cruiser enthusiasts does it take to change a lightbulb?

I'd say quite a few apparently!!!

How does one take apart the rear defrost switch on a TLC 80 series? All the other switches have easily replaceable bulbs except the rear defrost. Anyone have instructions, or pictures?

the right bulb is the on that comes on when the rear defroster is on, and the left one is the illumination.

guessing yours may be the older dash style?
