Am I correct in the idea that this location is only approx. 1.5 hours from Charlotte area? If that is correct, and depending on when the kid decides to enter this world, I will plan on coming out there Saturday to hang out and drink some beer. I will not be able to stay the night with a new baby in the house but it will still be good to hang out.

Does there happen to be an official address?

No address about 2 miles north of the BP on the corner of river rd and 24/27

There will be a sign and flags, impossible to miss.

So the trip is from Friday afternoon until Sunday?

That's the official time span but people will be coming and going as they please, we aren't going to lock the gate at 4pm on Friday and only unlock it on sunday;)

The official address, in GPS coordinates. Plug this into Google Maps, or your favorite mapping program, and you will get there.

Bummer,

Just found out the new LTC is hosting a x-mas party for all of the CDR's and 1SG's that day. Not to mention I forgot I have the Savannah Bridge run and I fully intend to win the Stroller series after my recent Turkey Trot victory :)

On a happy note I diagnosed that the center diff lock switch was malfunctioning on my 80 today and I ordered the part today for 17 bucks and should be here in a couple of day. Plugged in the Center diff switch after work and should have the 7 pin mod and lockers operational by the end of the week. I really need to get up there with you all and wheel!!!!! If anyone knows of a money tree and a two car hauler we could just use the Excursion to pull the FJ43/80 up there this next spring and the wife could wheel as well. If only we still lived in NC.

I think I volunteered myself to help with the STR this year. Company Command is kicking my ass right now and looks like we are scheduled for a JRTC rotation that month. Add in a 8 month pregnant wife and I doubt we will be rolling up. But I'm going to do my best to help out whoever else wants to chair it up and you never know...the stars may align and I will be drinking some cold ones with you all sooner than later.

Enjoy all the good brews/food/company. Miss you guys already.

I hope this didn't come off as a dick post. I meant to convey that we don't have an actual address, just the general location.

If you can get to river road, there will be flags and a couple of signs signaling you that you're at the right spot

We'll be here when you're able to make it down! It was good to meet you at Logan's Run this year. I look forward to the next time you're able to make it up!!

You military guys seem to think everyone understands these acronyms for some reason. I only a assume from your post Jason, some entity (LTC) of the military, is hosting a party for some groups (CDRs and 1SG's) to which you belong to at least one. :P I'm going to start throwing out Cisco acronyms for you guys to decipher (yes, I think we actually use more than the military)

"Excuse me, sir. Seeing as how the VP is such a VIP, shouldn't we keep the PC on the QT? 'Cause if it leaks to the VC he could end up MIA, and then we'd all be put on KP."

We'll miss you man, have fun on the stroller run. You are going to have to make another young'n soon if you want to keep going in this niche sport :D

 R

I think the military has more acronyms than Cisco but we might have to have a test one day, but for now. LTC / CDR / 1SG are all ranks. Jason has to go to the LTC one if he likes his job. So C M there Jason. Once this becomes a C F we might need your help. Granted most of these POG's got no earthly clue WTFF we are chatting about. Keep your 4th POC down and you will be able to C M.

The military doesn't have crap on the tech world for acronyms.

Yesterday I learned that my IPCC application can be accessed and controlled using an API, via REST or SOAP requests, which are transported by HTTP or HTTPS, that leverage either XML or JSON content types. Of course for the request to be sent across the network, you have to have your TCP connection set up properly, or SSL connection if using HTTPS, then IP packet has to be routed by your favorite routing protocol, BGP, OSPF, ISIS, EIGRP, IGRP, RIP, etc, and that's if you don't have an internet provider! Once you've done that, you need to make sure that your L2 infrastructure has converged via STP and that you have no MAC conflicts. Finally, you have your various physical connections.

Don't even get me started on VoIP acronyms,

But I digress.
