Apparently Ironman 4x4 is having a sale in the US on their bull bars. 2008-2015 models are $999 with free shipping. They also come with the fog lights (unlike ARB).

200 Series / LX570 Deluxe Commercial Bull Bar
200 Series/LX 570 Deluxe Black Commercial Bull Bar 2012+

I saw one of these on a 100-series recently and at a glance the design, mounting, and even steel thickness seemed the same as the ARB. Wondering if anyone has experience with these? My big complaint with Ironman, ARB, Dobinson's, etc is how far they stick out - I snatch up a bumper from Trail Tailor in a heartbeat if @reevesci ever builds one with a full hoop or if CBI decides to manufacture the custom one they did about 18 months ago. $1000 seems like a bargain, though I don't have a place to store it until the spring when I would do the install (unless I can throw a sheet of plywood on stop and convince my wife it's actually a coffee table).

Is it airbag approved?

EDIT: IT IS.
Landcruiser 200 Series 2008-2011 Commercial Bull Bar

I ordered it for my vehicle but mostly because I am cheap and like getting a deal. I was set on getting a TJM T13 yesterday. Perfect timing my IPS LED Fog light bulbs came in yesterday and need to be mounted.

Thanks Linux for the hookup! I owe you lunch next time we meet.

That is a bargain indeed. Not sure if anyone here has the same bumper on their 200 and able to share photos to see how it fits va ARB.

It looks like it bolts in front of the factory bumper. I know it can't, but I mean that the factory bumper facia that is left after install looks like it tucks behind the ironman vs. on top of other brands. Optical illusion maybe? The driver's side in the photo looks that way to me.

I ordered one. @reevesci sorry the deal was too good to pass.

I think they stick out further than even the ARB and the hoop tubes look smaller in diameter. Heck of a price though.

G,

I have some things in the works. Not sure on a production run timeline though..

K,

No worries, good luck with it.

Wouldn't sticking out further be better for safety reasons? Should I be concerned on how it will affect aerodynamics/driving dynamics. I'm a bit of a midnight storm chaser.

All of these winch bull bars look nearly the same in pics. Is there really that much a difference?

I was just pointing out some differences between the Ironman and ARB, I don’t think it’s a bad thing. In the end all of these bullbars are similar.

I would be interested to know whether the bars extend THROUGH the bumper to welds and braces on the inside.
My TJM's massive bars continue all the way through the bumper to several brace points. I think the ARB bars do as well (someone can confirm). But I know I've seen several bull bars whose upper bars are only welded to the top--which would create a huge deficit in strength upon impact. I am NOT saying the Ironman bars don't continue through...but they do look strikingly small in diameter, and it makes me question over-all strength. Can anyone confirm the interior construction/continuation of the bars through the bumper?

That's one thing I scoped on yours in person. The bars do look pretty stout. Definitely significantly larger than the Ironman bars look. I'd be interested in knowing the bracing and wall thickness in the Ironman. Granted the 50% price increase over the Ironman sale is a factor.

I messaged Ironman about this and here is their response:

" this customer didn't install all the brackets supplied with the bar. Also Toyota and ironman offered to fix this for free and this customer wanted a new car. This is the only reported case. When fitted correctly we have no no issues. Thank you"

I sent them a message asking if the bars extend through the welds and braces on the inside. Lets see what they say.

Yeah I recall reading about that Ironman failure. I assume everyone who builds a bumper, even one offs like CBI or Trail Tailor, use the same design ARB used for additional mounting aside from the bumper bolts.

I'm going to hold out for @rrevesci to see what Jason comes up with. I suspect Ironman or ARB or Dobinsons will have another sale in the future if I decide to go that route. But I really want something much lower profile than they offer - no need to add an extra foot of vehicle length unnecessarily and then deal with parallel parking it in the city 90% of the year.

In case anyone is curious, I just measured the tube circumference on my TJM.
-The tubing measures a very large 8 inches around...with tubes that pass through to additional anchor/weld-points within, extending to the other side of the main bumper body.

I hope to have something by late Winter. The new front mount ( no issues w/ original design) will have the 4 front plate bolts and then a wrap bracket to get the two bottom side bolts as well.

Andrea still wants a 200 and @TonyP will have his back in for the new updated front and rear soon.
