Couple of questions:
Would you guys prefer,:
Factory color matched or just black powder coat finish or have the option to decided on purchase?

Keep the price down... black powder coat or just raw... if folks are going to be cutting and drilling for custom switches etc then raw makes the most sense...

black powder coat is fine by me.

any more updates?

Here are some pics of the stock blank marked out to be cut out.
Looks like we got the fitment sizing down. Oh and FYI the silver screw/bolts you see will be counter sunk in to look like the stock panels. Also going for the same look on the OEM switch holes. right now the cut outs marked are just for the switch to snap in, which would work but looks half done to me.

With holidays falling into the last two weeks, the shop hours have been short. I hope to have some more progress this upcoming week.

Not being familiar with 60s' environmental control panels versus 62 series, are the panels drastically different? I've been following this thread since the start and would be bummed if I can't have a new panel for my 62.

Maybe I can find a 62 surround in the parting out forsale section or if someone has one that can PM me.

That's be great. Ideally I've been trying to find a sheet metal guru that I could send both 62 series dash panels to that could make bolt-in replacements out of aluminum, but with the recesses for the gauges, screw holes in the back and angles screw holes in both parts, it'd be a ton of work for something like that to be custom done. It'd have to be seriously R&D'd and produced on a large scale to make it feasible.

great to see some ideas on a needed part like this!

I like the simple blank you had pics of - i'd like to see one less blank for the standard switches, and another Toyota OEM cig/12v outlet. stock appearance preferred. Like most have said - need as many as possible.

Keep up the good work!

Question for your OEM style requests. It would be a lot easier to replace the old cig lighter with a 12volt style plug. If you want to add a light to it I'm sure you decided on that since the wiring and bulb will be there.

Anybody out there really, really, really needs the cig lighter to work as a cig lighter?

I would be happy with a blank panel, a panel cut for a switch bezel or a panel cut for the ARB style switches. A round hole for a 12v power outlet would be fine... maybe even 2...

Just thinking out loud, here are some ideas? Let me know what you think would be the most the useful. SB means stock button/blank

Keep in mind that the gray area could be customized once it's in your hands etc..

This is exciting, and they're looking great! Definitely interested in a version 2. Do you happen to have any idea about pricing yet?

v8 but move the outlets left and make the switches 6 over 6

I thought of that, but seems the shifter would get really close to whatever you had plugged in to that old location. Which is why I moved them over to the right side.

Any thoughts?

Cool! We need to keep this tech only, no prices or it will get moved. Once we solve the technical aspect of this project, then I'll up date elsewhere to find out that information.

Thanks
