Woke up dying for a shower but knowing I had epoxy to sand 🤢🤮

Anyway, sanded off that and all the house paint, applied the magic eraser to my ugly drain welds, cleaned off the black goop, then some ...
Seeing as primer is just flat paint with pre-installed sanding dust... let's call it primer.

Sanded all the white house paint off.

Now behind door #2

Magic eraser first this time :p

Now I get to sand the epoxy, and all the white AND the red off this door. I can't wait.

My first ever bj40 was blue then painted red with a brush.

I kinda wonder if this is one of its doors that found its way back to punish me.

Too bad you're not closer, I've got a new sandblaster that does recycling... Pretty handy...

Basically a sandblaster with a shop vac attatched, would be pretty easy to build a DIY one actually....

****it. The red can stay...🤣

That sander would be in the favourite tool thread if I didn't hate sanding so much. HP of a full-size, but palm sized and hooked to a shopvac no dust escapes.

It isn't all on with a brush, so it's not the end of the world.

I somehow managed to dent the door already so it should fit right in. 🤣

Now I really do need to buy some primer.

It's basically a shop vac with a hole drilled in the bottom and a barb fitting so that the sandblaster can suck the recycled sand out of the vacuum
We have some things like that at work for drills, seeing as the fire alarm pretty much goes off if a nurse sees a dust mote.

My solution has been to not drill any holes for the last 5 years.... :p

It was pretty funny watching the Island health maintenance workers (and sub-contractors) drilling/cutting holes in the ceiling of the plaster room. Every surface in that room is covered in plaster dust. There’s so much dust that there’s even a layer on the ceiling and light fixtures. And they are worried about the dust that comes from drilling a 1/4” hole in the ceiling. Same goes for work done in the workshop and the grinding room… equally futile.

Yeah the ipac people are a barrel of laughs to deal with.
I have to take the dust control and infection course every year. They have 3 separate categories of risk, each with 4 grades. Abcd, 1234, and I,ii,iii,iv.

I asked dip**** in chief how they differentiate between 4 and iv. verbally .

Blank stare..🤣

Stoped by an estate sale today. Turns out it was over before I knew about it. But that’s when I often find the best deals.

After your “rave review”… I thought I should buy my own.

Porter Cable random orbital. Also got a 3rd sheet dual mode (orbital/linear) Craftsman. New in box Piaa driving lights with wiring harness and relays (receipt shows $299+ taxes). Oil filled pressure/vacuum gauge (-30 to +30 psi). An assortment of relays with sockets, and a bunch of other stuff for $20. A couple of people were helping the widow clean up the house so it can be listed on Monday.

Those porter cable sanders are great. Only ones we used at the boatyard...and you can't imagine how many square miles of sanding they did.

I have one that needs brushes, but I like my little one better because of the dust control.
I'm sure you can get a dust boot for it. We didn't use them, we had low payed lungs for that. 😒

Big one also takes the sticky back paper too, but you can change the pads.

They were $5 a piece so I figured they'd be worth having. The widow had a couple helping them clear everything so that the property could be sold. I passed on the toolboxes of miss matched sockets, and boxes of worn out tools.

Also picked up one of these there too...

I've never used one, but thought there are times it could be helpful.

I still remember the pinch I got from one of those when I was 10...

Did it take a bite out of you… I would imagine it could easily break through skin.

I need to not think about stuff like that… after having seen someone’s devolved hand. The paramedics didn’t entirely believe me… but quickly moved to toes for the blood oxygen do dad. They couldn’t go to the opposite arm ‘cause it was still out in the ocean.

I have a couple scars in the web of my left thumb. Pretty sure one is from that ****ing thing.

They do work pretty well though.

Did some rekeying of door locks while I wait for stuff to arrive.

This sh!t'll make you go crosseyed.

It's actually pretty easy to do, hardest part is getting that chrome cover off without making it ugly. Small screwdriver with a bend in the tip worked for me.

And maybe some patience...

The little door flap is a bugger to reassemble, ( and easy to lose when the chrome pops off) fortunately with the two aftermarket ones I rekeyed that all stayed together. Cylinder comes out once that chrome is off and you pop the spring off the back.

Make sure the key is in at this point or you'll lose things.

Lots of things...some of them very small

Then you just mix and match these flat pieces until they're all pulled in when you put the key in. Fortunately these ones were close, I just reversed a couple, that one sticking out is obviously a mismatch.

You using straight deionized water or some kind of cleaning solution?

Different density of fluid, ultra sonic is basically sound. So freq change I suspect.
I got to unbox mine. Put it to work.
