I will not be going, but I have rubbed enough brain cells together to remember a few previous family vacations when I was out there.

For people who have not been out to the Southwest before, the terrain in Moab / the Southwest (exposed sandstone, no trees) is very distinct / awesome to look at.

Arches is pretty cool, just out of town in Moab, if you have never been, pretty cool to go see, some good hikes in there.

Island in the Sky park is nearish to Moab, there is a pucker factor 5000 road that you can take to get to the bottom of the canyon from the park.

Shafer trail is the name of the pucker factor road.
Pictures do not convey how quickly that road goes down / how steep some of the drop offs are

Moab itself is pretty cool as well, you can see things like petroglyphs:

What is the max capacity of this event? I'm planning to attend for the first time and just curious. Thanks!

I don’t know that there is but due to covid some events have been limiting capacity to events for the last year or two.

I will hit up the club and find out though.

The capacity for the event is 200 registered drivers.
Passengers dont count against that count.

Thank you! I just realized I posted in a club forum, not a general forum, so my apologies! But thanks again for the info!

No worries.

Just wanted to add to the tread that Rising Sun has officially discontinued the CB radio requirement.

The current communications requirement is FRS/GMRS. So yes, that can be as simple as a handheld FRS.

Website adds:
  • NOTE: If you are registering for Cruise Moab 2022, wait until after registration before you buy — we’ll probably have a special discount code to buy FRS radios from Midland

Thanks for the update!!

registration is a week away.
Running out of time to decide if you want to go on this trip or not.

Once registration opens up don’t hesitate. Sign up as soon as possible. Not sure how fast the event fills up but I’m assuming it fills up pretty quick.

Nathan and I are still in, assuming we can get a spot. Fingers crossed!

Willow Springs Road is a cool back door into Arches. right before you get into Arches, there is a trail on the Left to Tower Arch. That is a fun trail and i highly recommend. Was out there last year. Generic video, not me.

CM2020, the last "normal" sign up event, sold out within ~14 hours. So be ready!

I actually just booked air travel to Denver for the event... I'm being hassled by my buddy out there to bring my truck though.

If I were to drive out, I would consider trailering someone if they have a lighter rig, think lightly built pre-80 series. They would need to BYOT as I don't own one.

Not too sure if I will be going as I usually hit it at a different time of year.

But if you have a few days extra out there Canyon Lands is a great place to go to. Down by St George Utah.

one last time.
If you are interested in going to cruise Moab this year. Make sure you set an alarm and register tomorrow.
REGISTRATION OPENS @ 2:00pm NC time.
I have no idea how fast it will fill up so don’t take a chance. If your on the fence I would register and then possibly sell your registration to someone else if you decide this is not your year.

I got to be on the road tomorrow but I’m hoping to already be home by 2 if not I am going to have to stop on the side of the road to register. Haha

If you register please post up or send me a pm.
That way I can consolidate the list of who is going and we can start working out when everyone plans to leave for the event.

registration opened at about 158 pm, I made it to page 9, just before payment page and the website is now crashed. it would seem there is some interest in the event. UPDDATE- website back up and registration was able to process registration at 220.

Same here. Got 50 percent through the registration process and then it crashed. Dammit.

Same here. Half way through and crash.

What do they expect if there is only 250 spots for an event and there are thousands of TLCA members
