I’m in !!!

I had to haul ass back to a McDonald’s I passed just so I could use their wifi but it’s done.

Got kicked out 2 pages in at 2pm. Wasn't able to get back in . Now It is sold out. On the wait list now.

Unfortunately the site crashed due to the extreme high volume of people trying to register. We tried to get the site back up as fast as possible so hopefully everyone who may have been kicked off were able to register? We actually went up to 250 registrations so we could accommodate more folks because of how fast it sells out. Again sorry to anyone who was adversely affected by the crash. Do get on the waiting list if you are still interested in going. We always have people drop out last minute.

We still need trail leaders and gunners so if you would like to lead a trail or gun please see the following page Cruise Moab 2022 Trail leaders and gunners! - https://risingsun4x4club.org/xf/threads/cruise-moab-2022-trail-leaders-and-gunners.32083/ on our forum.

So, I saw on Facebook that Del registered and some more ONSC members are coming this way. I'm not registered but I'll be in the area doing other stuff and I'm available as a local resource. I have a shop in Montrose, CO now and I've been waiting 8 years for some of you guys to come to Moab. Guess I need to check this forum page more often. If you don't recognize my name, it's because I changed it. Got tired of Burt88. To anyone without a camping situation figured out yet, get on that as soon as you can. CM committee has decided in recent years to hold the event the same weekend as Moab Car Show, so it's getting limited. I recommend staying at the arena if possible. Johnny and I came out in 2012 and I can tell you the tourist population has doubled since then. Keep me in the loop about any travel plans and hit me up if you need any info.

Oh you didn’t know?
We are planning on swinging by your shop in montrose on the way to Moab.

Hahaha! Nobody told me anything and I neglected to check the forum. But my door is open to anyone from the Olde club. Glad you guys are coming out. It'll be a blast!
Just kidding. We would of warned you before crashing your place. But seriously Johny and I have discussed stopping by your place on the way to Moab or on the way back.

Link above is a list and description of common trails for you guys to look over and kind of make your own individual game plans as to what trails you think you would
Want to do.

Unfortunately we were not able to get all the ONSC members registered for the trip but I urge those that are interested to get on the waiting list.

Lots of people bail at the last minute for these events anyway.

I have a few ideas and suggestions that hopefully can get more of our club members registered for the event in years to come.

I haven’t spoken with the rest of the ONSC guys going but I know for sure that we would be happy to tail gun any trail ride we are on.

Unfortunately lack of Moab trail knowledge makes me hesitant to sign up to be a trail leader, I can’t speak for the rest of us on this so they will have to chime in or reach out to you on their own. We typically lead and tail all of our trail rides at different events that we go to. But, the cool part is that it should not be a problem for 2023.

I can confirm with Del, closer to the event people start dropping like flies and folks on the waiting list have a strong chance of getting a spot. I'll also add that if you can't register for the trail you want, don't get disappointed. At the event spots for each day open up ad you can most likely switch your trail selections. For any first timers to Moab try to register for at least one of the trails led by Tim of Giamivitti, Cristo Slee, Kurt Williams or Jeremiah Proffit. These are the industry leaders who have been part of Cruise Moab the longest and their trail days are worth the experience. Other trails on my favorite list are Fins and Things, Moab Rim, Golden Spike, and Cliffhanger. I've been on Hells Revenge, 7-mile, Metal Masher, Steel Bender, Pritchett, Top of the World, and Dome Plateau. Try to avoid Fins and Things or Hells Revenge on a Saturday, these are by far the most populated trails and have been taken over by novices, rental jeeps, and swarms of side by sides. I have knowledge of other trails as well including reasons I haven't done them yet.

Del and Johnny, you better get on Pritchett and let me ride with you. Burt is out of commission for the next year as I panty prance around in my Lexus.

Cruise Moab dry run with new (to me) tow rig and trailer. The truck is a basically new 2017 2WD Tundra (16K miles). Towing capacity is rated at over 10K. The trailer is a 10K Kaufman. The setup seems to handle the girth of the 80 with relative ease. Of course there are no real mountains close by to test the setup on steep inclines. I'm hoping I brought enough oomph to get us to Utah and back. I guess we will see soon. I built some bed bars to attach our RTT to the back of the pickup for camping. I think it will work out well enough.

Dang Dave! Movin on up!! Sweet rig. @Fort Knox has been over the moon with his tundras. Mileage isn't stellar while towing so range is kinda limited, but it'll run forever.

Thanks, Johnny. Mileage isn't stellar even when NOT towing! I normally get around 15.5 mpg. I'm expecting 10-ish on this trip. This one does have the extra capacity fuel tank (38 gallons), so that should help a little with pit stops.

Oh hell yeah, 38gal is perfect. Should be ~350 miles of safe range, so nearly 6 hours of driving time.

If all goes to plan, I should be riding either leader or gunner on the Thursday Hells Revenge ride. My good friend and fellow Mud'r has led this trail on Thursday a handful of the last years. Quintessential Moab trail and we'd love to have some NC folks out there with us!

Very nice Dave!!! The bigger tank is def a plus. I still need to add a bigger tank to my tow rig.

Nice Dave!!! As Johnny said, I've loved both of my Tundras. I usually get 9-10mpg towing. Plenty of power going up hills, though I'm pulling a lighter truck on a lighter trailer, but I don't think you'll have any problems keeping up. Going up Old Fort on the way to GSMTR, I've been able to easily maintain whatever speed I want.

I do wish I had the bigger tank, although it sure would hurt my soul to put in over $130 in gas at a time!
