I have shipping quote details for tomorrow. There are variables and some logistical hoops, but the median price is about $6250 to haul round trip two wagons and two forties. Ballpark is $1565/truck not taking into account 40's should pay a tad less. That's today's fuel rate which is likely to work against us in spring. The other thing to consider which is good for Steve, bad for Jim is the truck run is $500-$700 cheaper returning. Shipping cars west to east is considerably cheaper. I'm not certain why, but I'm guessing Jap and Korean cars come into California by freighter and millions need to come to the east coast to be sold. Either that or the truckers make side cash hauling Rejected marijuana from CA dispensaries to the East coast market because it's still great s***!

lets try to make picking trails the first priority for tomorrow, Crusha speak up if you have personal favorites or something you know for sure you want to do. Also anybody else that has been there please share stuff we should try to do

I just registered. I would recommend registering ASAP as runs are disappearing. Of Gary's picks, both Hell's Revenge and Kane Creek Canyon are now booked for all three nights and unavailable. Of the runs that are still available, rating 5 is the toughest left. I chose some of the easier ones as Rhea and the kids will be riding. Friday's Poison Spider Mesa is the only one I chose that coincides with Gary.

These are mine:

Thursday -
1) Arches Family Run
2) Porcupine Rim
3) Fins & Things

Friday -
1) Poison Spider Mesa
2) Fins & Things
3) Porcupine Rim

Saturday -
1) Dome Plateau
2) Fins & Things
3) Seven-Mile Run

I'd have no problem changing over to easier runs if that keeps the group more or less together. Of course meeting new fellow trail riders from CO or wherever would be good stuff too. I'm game for whatever! I got the green light from the wife today (!!!) and made my flight reservations today so I am definitely IN!

I'm registered matching Bart's trail selections. To recap yesterday's Moab meeting, the general plan is this:
Bob,Jeff, and Gary are flying into Denver Monday. My buddy from Michigan will arrive around the same time. Likely we will be ahead of the road trip posse, so we will rent a car and head to Moab. Steve, Bart, and Chris driving my truck and Tiki, will arrive soon after. Jim Ross' 40, Gary's 40 and I believe Greg's 80 will be shipping at a TBD rendezvous point. Perhaps Curt's family compound near Moab. Curt, let us know your plans and if you want to ship a vehicle with the group. Greg, let us know if you still plan to ship with us, or perhaps fly with us/and or drive to Moab with us. If the Keystone group gains traction and organizes their own plan, we'll just see you there, but we are glad to have you piggy back with us where we can help. At some point, since I am not shipping a vehicle, I will need to pass the torch to someone regarding my shipping contact, if you want to use him. It won't be efficient to act as the middle man, when I don't have skin in the game. So right now we have solid confirmation for Bob, Gary, Steve, Bart, Jeff, and Chris, plus family and friends. Greg is solid, but we don't have his exact plans, and Curt is still in the game, but nothing firm on his plans. I think that is our group. Greg, we booked flights today, so if you want to be on that flight, we can send the itinerary.

Flights are booked for me and Jeff if anyone wants to link up.

05/02 depart IAD at 8:29 AM, arrive DEN at 10:29 AM - United

05/09 depart DEN at 8:05 AM, arrive IAD at 1:19 PM - United

I'm a Kestone guy, and have registered. I will see if I can edit my trail selections via email tomorrow.
I'd like to know more about the road trip posse?
@Crusha, @shmukster and I have been discussing shipping, nothing firm yet...

Sent from my XT1056

Couldn't the FJ62 be at the front of a lineup like this?

:flipoff2::flipoff2::flipoff2::flipoff2::flipoff2: Moab!
way to many logistics!

As my 10 year old would say
"I'm SO EXCITED!"

That's probably a 1/2 ton truck as well!!!

@Pacer we don't have a FI rm plan yet. We will probable leave Saterday puting in 700 miles a day for 3 days stoping at hotels at night. Bart has his wife and kids I have Jeff's dog. So it will be a little slower than usual.

As for shipping Jeff got some pricing from one of his peaple.

Aaron @Pacer and I are registered. We are doing the San Rafael Swell overnight run, which starts on Wednesday.

@Tikicruiser, please send me the shipping contact, and I'll work things out with him. However, at this point there are three Keystone Cruiser rigs, including @shmukster, and it looks like one CLCC. Is this correct? If so, then it's only logical to have the departure from Pa.

As far as flights, I'll discuss this with Pacer, we'll probably fly out of Philadelphia.

s***'s gettin' real :bounce:

CAMPSITES

I need confirmation from everyone who will be taking one of the tent sites I reserved. This way I can either cancel the extras, or open them up to other participants.

Done.

I just reserved fourteen single tent sites, Tent Sites | Slickrock Campground, numbers 125-133 and 157-161. These are in the lower right corner of the map diagram, and in the satellite image, they are at the very bottom center. If you cant the diagram 45 degrees to the right, you can see where they are on the image, use the rest rooms/shower square as a reference point.

These sites are a mix of sheltered, and unsheltered. I've never been to Slickrock, but thought this looked like a good area to set up.

I made the reservations for Monday May 2nd through Sunday the 8th. Cruise Moab officially starts on the 3rd.

Cost is $197.66 for the week per site. No need to talk about reimbursement until we're much closer to the event

I've started a thread on our Keystone Cruisers page as well, Cruise Moab anyone? and hopefully some of my fellow members will make this trip, it could become a co-club event, which I think would be pretty cool.

For the record, I get the best site :flipoff2:

I'll take one.
These are the single tent sights right?

i'll take one if you can put two tents on it or two if you cannot. I need to get some details on the shipping as well. I had hoped that Jim Ross was shipping out. He only wanted to ship one way. If our shipping company of choice would drop his forty in Denver area he might still want to do this. Then i will take his spot for the return ride. So nobody else wants to ship from Va ? Bart driving, Chris driving, chit my plan is falling apart

I'll take a tent site to share with Gary as long as you can put two tents up. If not, make it one site for me and one for Gary.
