Update - ALL DONE! Only a couple of detail left, like putting the front license plate on.
33s: done!
Paint: done!
ARB bull bar: done!
Sliders: done!
Locker: done!
Carb: done!
CB: done!
Winch: done!
A couple of new ones got added in there, cleaning, inspecting and adjusting the rear brakes. When I went to put the locker in I discovered a loose pinion nut and pinion bearing (prescription for a broken pinion) so I dropped the rear shaft and tightened it, then staked it, it hadn't been staked by whoever had been in there before.
My wife said "you must be so proud" referring to changing out the carb in a fully smogged 60. I said "not proud, just relieved that it went smoothly with no major gotchas". Mitchell manual says R&R of a carb on an '87 FJ60 is 2 hours, took me 2.5 hours, prolly the extra .5 hours was trying to reconnect the inlet hose at the smog pump after it came off when I pulled the air cleaner housing.
Gotta hand it to Jim Chenoweth, he certainly is the best at what he does. Started right up and runs like factory. Test drive was awesome, she's all good.
Now time to pack tools, spares etc. Leaving tomorrow around 10 AM - anyone heading west on I-70 toward Moab around that time, look for a silver '60 with ARB bumper, factory rear bumper and no roof rack. I'll be on channel 4.
Now that all the major mechanical stuff is done, I am so looking forward to seeing my best friends from all over the world!
