Scott wheels that runner hard. He only runs 33s but does all the big dog trails.

I think 33s and lockers and protection are all you need for 95% of Moab. driver skill makes up for the rest.

driver skills - what's that

Just got my trail choices confirmed: SRS Overnighter Tues - Thurs, Gold Bar Friday and Dome Plateau Saturday. What I asked for - thanks Rising Suns!

just got my email today also. can't wait, getting the rig ready the next few weekends.

It seems like every year I have a zillion last minute projects to get my rig ready. This year takes the cake! Last year on the way back from Moab I put a rod through the side of the crankcase on my 71. So last winter I got around to tearing down my spare F engine, then put it into the machine shop on Jan 2nd. Well, they really took their time. I finally picked it up at the end of March. I got the crank in, the pistons and the oil pump. Somewhere in there I realized I am just running out of time to not only assemble the motor, but put it in and troubleshoot any problems, so I decide to go to plan B, which is my FJ60.

That's the one with the carb issues. Well, Jim C. is building me a carb, but before I take a wagon to Moab I gotta put sliders on. And my wife wants it painted, so I had to prep it for paint first. It's in the paint shop right now, should be done in a week or so. After I get it back, I gotta weld the sliders together (TG kit), paint them, weld them onto the 60. Bolt up the ARB bull bar and put on the 8274. Install the lock right. Install a CB. Swap out the carb. All in about 2 weekends.

Well my buddy sent his Carb to Jim C over a month ago and was promised that he would have it back by the first week in April. He has not received his carb and called this week and Jim C has not even started on it. He is really bummed because looks like he is not going to make Moab because of it. So if you havenet got your carb back yet good luck.

Yeah it was supposed to be 4 weeks for my turnaround (sent in Feb) but I know Jim gets busy sometimes. We talked about it on the phone, he said as soon as he quotes 4 weeks then he'll get an avalanche of work and get behind.

Right now, I am more concerned with what I can control, which is the sliders, bull bar, winch, CB and locker.

I plan to set up my trailer in Slickrock Campground as early as they will allow on Tuesday then head direct to Lone Warrior so if anyone is heading out there about the same time post up here or PM me. I'm going to tent camp this year and not stay in my trailer down below. Too much climbing up and down.

If your spot is not previously occupied they should let you in right away. If it isn't, I think check in is around 2 or so.

Just called the campground and confirmed that checkout is 11:00 and checkin is at noon (1:00 for cabins). Also found no one is scheduled to be in my site that Monday so they said I can come in early as 8:00. I sure wouldn't want to hang around until 2:00 while waiting to head to Lone Warrior. : (

Oh that's cool! I think it used to be 2:00, glad they changed it!

Consumed with thoughts of CM12. Out there for a week this time. 6, count 'em, 6 wheeling days. Coming west with 10 trucks this year.
I leave in 6 days and the truck is almost packed already. Yafreakinhoo.
