Cooling / Overheating issue. Super mysterious. Tried everything.

Pretty certain my fluid is leaking from the rear heater corroded pipes under the ‘62 and that causes air in the system and then high Temps and sucks coolant from the reservoir. Dye in the coolant helped me find the leak. Now trying to just delete the rear heater flow in the engine bay.

In the foreground. The background shows where the rear heater comes thru the floor and attaches. The area is also getting drenched from leaking transmission fluid. So many fluids leaking. Oh… if you tighten those clampy things on the ends of the hose, it stops leaking. Shazam.

Thank you, I need to double check there.

Well I’m still leaking somewhere. I have to fill an inch of coolant back into the reservoir after every hot weather drive. And I can smell it but not see it. Cool temperature pressure test is next.

I had this problem, only on really hot drives. Finally found that it was pooling at the bottom of the radiator core, but never enough to drip to the tank or below to the frame or floor. Get a bright light and look from the top down between fan blades and into the shroud.

Found my coolant leak but I think it will need it’s own thread. Look me up to follow the saga…..
